IT took nearly six weeks to complete and was the biggest musical survey ever undertaken in the town... but, at last, the musical taste of people in Reading has been revealed like never before.
And it's Robbie Williams who comes out as top of the town's all-time 500 chart.
The chart was compiled by Reading 107FM, with the help of The Chronicle, and played over the Easter bank holiday.
The rock heritage of the town was reflected by songs such as Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, The Eagles' Hotel California and Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven making the top five.
Reading 107FM managing director Ian Smith said that he was blown away by the response to the all-time chart, with thousands registering their top hits through The Chronicle and 107FM's web-site.
Out of the many entries three people were chosen to win prizes., courtesy of Richer Sounds in Oxford Road. Louise Vincent of Blanchard Close, Woodley won a CD hi-fi worth £320, Frances Townsend of Chesnut Crescent, Shinfield won a DAB player and Rebecca French, of Rylstone Road, Reading won an MP3 player.
The top 60 songs of the chart are printed in Reading Watch.'
