Robbie Williams threatens to quit music. He sounds serious...
Quoted from: http://www.entertainmentwise.com
'Robbie Williams has threatened to quit music for good.
The pop star is desperate to step away from the music industry and dismantle the pop monster he believes he has become.
Speaking to the Star, Robbie said: 'I've got to take the view over the next 18 months and see if I want to be part of the machine any more, because I don't see me singing again. It's a question of what I want and where I want to be.
'Can I live without the radio picking my song and putting it on the playlist? Or is this fame thing something I'm addicted to?'
Robbie is currently touring the globe with his Close Encounters tour and is gearing up for the release of his new album 'Rudebox'.
After years of success he has started to reflect on what makes him so successful and speaking to Musicweek he seemed to have a few answers.
He said: 'To the six million people who keep buying my records, I'm the best thing out there. But there's a whole group of people that think I'm a joke, that I am some end-of-the-pier entertainer, which I am.
'I was brought up on holiday camps. It's where I grew up, that's where I learnt my craft, so that’s what I am.'
'I'd be an entertainment manager in Caernavon Bay is I hadn't written 'Angels'. '
So if he does give it all up, fans will be able to find him in a holiday somewhere...'
