WORLD MUSIC AWARDS [award]

Quoted from: http://fadedyouth.blogspot.com/

'The World Music Awards took place in London last night for the first time in 18 years. Party monster Lindsay Lohan hosted the star-studded event which honours recording artists based on their popularity, and worldwide sales figures.

British crooner James Blunt boo-hoo'ed his way to the top of the awards - scooping two trophies.

The 'You're Beautiful' heart-throb picked up the prestigious title for Best New Artist and Best-Selling British Artist at the glittering ceremony at London's Earls Court.

The ceremony also saw Madonna cement her position as the Queen of Pop following criticism over her adoption of Malawian baby David Banda. She was named Best Pop Artist, beating nominees Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake.

Canadian chanteuse Nelly Furtado won Best Pop/Rock Artist for her international hit 'Maneater.'

Fellow Canucks Nickelback beat out Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to capture the Best Rock Group award.
