'Bringing the format up to date meant the Potteries' other main export, a certain Robert Williams, featured heavily on 20th Century Roadshow. Our main source of industry may have been shipped out en masse to Indonesia, but at least we've still got a bloke who looks good in a T-shirt with the arms cut off. Robbie's mum Jan was even spotted in the queue at 20th Century Roadshow, clutching a bag of knick-knacks from the Brit Awards. "I thought let's go along," she said, "no-one will know. And now we've been rumbled."Jan should have kept a lower profile. There were Robbie obsessives in the building. One woman had a pair of his trousers that she'd won off the radio. Another had has some fag butts, retrieved from the star's hotel room, mounted in a glass case. I am sure she would have had no qualms about doing the same with his mother.'
