ROBBIE Williams and The Beatles could take centre stage in a new rock hall of fame at the Millennium Dome.
Record industries bosses are in talks with the Dome's owners Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) about building a British Music Hall of Fame there.
A spokesman for the music business trade association the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) confirmed 'advanced negotiations' had taken place about the plans.
He said a site for the hall of fame, next to the proposed O2 music club, had already been earmarked.
The hall of fame will commemorate the best of British popular music and big-hitters
like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Robbie Williams are likely to be early inductees.
BPI chairman Peter Jamieson said: 'We have been hugely impressed by AEG's plans to transform the building into a world-class entertainment venue. There has been talk about creating a permanent British Music Hall of Fame for a decade, but with Anschutz's help I am optimistic we can turn that dream into a reality.'
