Robbie Williams will be taking another shot at cracking North America when his new album Intensive Care is released on October 25.Recorded in Los Angeles, the new record follows 2003's Escapology, which had little success stateside despite a large promotional push. This time around, his new single 'Tripping' will hit radio stations in September.
In a press release, Williams describes Intensive Care as 'something like a mini-gangster opera.' Perhaps he's looking to 50 Cent for tips on how to break into the North American market.
The album's launch takes place outside of the U.K. for the first time at a one-off gig at the Velodrom in Berlin on October 9. This sell-out concert will be broadcast in high definition on cinemas across Europe and shown on TV at a later date. The Velodrom show is another of Williams' live performance films, which include shows at Slane Castle and Knebworth.
Despite six of his albums reaching #1 on the U.K. charts, most of North America forgot about the tabloid favourite after The Ego Has Landed.'
