SCOTTISH Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has turned down the job of beating England in a charity footie match.
Fergie, 64, was to have managed a Rest of the World squad against an England XI for ITV1's Soccer Aid but diary clashes scuppered his hopes of stuffing the Auld Enemy.
Ex-Chelsea and Newcastle Utd boss Ruud Gullit has taken over from Sir Alex as a last minute substitute.
His team of celebs and World Cup stars - captained by fiery chef Gordon Ramsay - will take on the England XI which will have Robbie Williams as captain and Terry Venables as manager in the clash next month.
And TV Biz can also reveal that two of Gullit's first signings will be his former Chelsea players Gianfranco Zola and Marcel Desailly.
Last night, Ruud, 43, said: 'I'm really looking forward to starting training with my team.
'I've signed two fantastic players in Zola and Desailly to join our captain Gordon Ramsay in what is shaping up to be a very strong team. Robbie Williams and co better watch out!'
Soccer Aid, which will raise cash for Unicef, kicks off on May 27 at Old Trafford.
Gordon Ramsay told us he's even had a floodlight pitch built in his garden and been out to LA to practise his footie skills with Robbie Williams.
He also revealed that pint-sized telly stars Ant and Dec - who host the tournament - were desperate to play.
But he joked: 'They're much too small, they can bring out the orange slices at half time!'
