'Controversial or not, Robbie Williams sure knows how to make the headlines, and that's most likely what he was going for as he started wearing a sweatshirt which declared his support for Copenhagen's Commune of Freetown Christiana, a place where drugs are used openly. This happened while the singer was touring Denmark and he got away for a short break. There has been recent friction about this particular area in Denmark's capital, as the government has had several attempts to have this place shut down and try to have a more strict control over the narcotics abuse.Williams was strolling through the section nicknamed 'Pusher Street', a place that is very well known for the ease with which one can find drugs, and residents there immediately welcomed the international star and gave him the grande tour. Robbie didn't hesitate to show off a sweatshirt with the words 'Bevar Christiana', meaning 'Save Christiana', on the front.
It's no mistery, the pop singer has not been a stranger to drugs, so the connection between the two was soon on everybody's lips. Actually, just to make things worse, Robbie really managed to shock anti-drug campaigners by saying he'd enjoyed the best times of his life while high on cocaine. '
