Wow. Seriously, just wow. Robbie Williams and rapping? Never thought I'd hear those two words in the same sentence. Sadly, it is just as bad as you've probably imagined it to be. Whilst Williams has a great voice and a history of releasing great, clever, enjoyable singles, 'Rudebox' really doesn't carry on that tradition. Some people should never, ever try to rap. Williams is one of those. The chorus of 'Rudebox' is absolutely fine by itself, but unfortunately it's surrounded by Williams' cringeworthy attempts at emulating Eminem. He's a pop singer, not a rapper, and this has never been more clear than in the sentence when he states: "Okay then/What's the fracas/Grab your red hat and your bus pass/You don't sweat much for a fat lass." Not quite Marshall Mathers, is our Robbie.Having criticised this so roundly, it may seem disingenuous to state that 'Rudebox' will be a massive hit. It undoubtedly will be. It's Robbie, after all.'
