Stewart Allan, HMV Singles Buyer
"This is potentially one of the most open races for the Christmas No.1 in years. There's a very strong chance it will be the X-Factor winner, but a lot depends on who actually wins it and, with the single being released midweek, whether it can make up for two days missing sales by the time the chart is announced on Christmas Day.
"Westlife would have been serious contenders, but their single is out the week before, although this should help them to secure their 14th UK No.1, so the main challenge would appear to come from the very touching Nizlopi 'JCB' release, which has a wonderful video and could be this year's 'Gary Jules'. Other contenders include Girls Aloud, the England Cricket Team and The Choirboys."
Rupert Adams,William Hill
"The X Factor winner is definitely the one to beat but as a result there are some fantastic prices available for other contender such as Robbie at 20/1, Girls Aloud 25/1 and there is no such thing as a certainty in the Xmas 1 market."
