Williams defends Geldof and Bono

'ROBBIE WILLIAMS insists rockers-turned-activists SIR BOB GELDOF and BONO should be supported in their actions, even if their reasons are "self-serving". The English singer is disgusted by critics who mock the megastar Make Poverty History campaigners as they are making a huge difference, even if it does raise their own profile in the process. He says, "There's T-shirts saying 'Make Bono History' and 'Make Geldof History' and stuff - I think they are in the worst taste. "They are of this self-defeating attitude that we have in Britain. "I wish the country was full of self-serving people doing self-serving things for charity - Geldof and Bono are doing it, whatever their reasons and motivations."
