Robbie Williams has long been a fan of the tattoo.

But now he's gone in for a much more extreme form of body decoration - he's had some rather nasty-looking piercing action.

Two 14-inch needles through each forearm, to be exact.

But don't worry, it's all for a stunt on Derren Brown's Channel 4 special, which will be aired on Easter Sunday.

The illusionist put the Robster into a trance before skewering his arms - which were suspended by his sides with chains, like something out of a horror flick.

Apparently brave Rob felt no pain - but did turn a greener shade of sick as the spikes went through his flesh.

Derren said: "By the end, Robbie is looking quite sickened and troubled. To be fair, they were massive needles."

The hypnotist knew he'd have to do more than a simple card trick to impress Rob, and thought he'd want to know every little detail.

He said: "He was just up for it. He was delightful and easy about it all. Mind you, he looked quite troubled by the end of it."

Apparently the whole thing's given the star ideas and he's thinking about doing it for real now.

Robbie - who had to chant Three Blind Mice to remain in a trance - said: "I want to decorate my body like that. Perhaps Derren can come on tour with me and insert them." '
