'Robbie Williams is hotly tipped to star in a remake of 1970's classic 'Saturday Night Fever' says UK tabloid The Daily Star, taking over the role made famous by John Travolta. Brothers Robin and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees fame will gain ownership of their back catalogue of hits this year and are said to be planning a £20 million remake of the disco movie as their first project. The feisty Brit rocker is hotly tipped to play snake-hipped Tony Manero in the film. A friend of the band says: 'They have always wanted to remake the film and bring out a more modern version and Robbie is the ideal candidate to play Tony - he can sing, dance, is a good-looking lad and has loads of charisma.' Williams will be releasing his sixth solo album in Europe next month.

Pop singer Robbie Williams dueled Chris Evans at a golf event this weekend, for Tiger Woods' Masters flag and two tickets for the next Masters tournament. Chris And Robbie started to battled against each other, after the starting price of £7,000 was announced. However, Robbie was forced to renounce the bidding duel after the price reached £39,000, allowing Chris to take home his prize for £40,000. 'It was a real battle of the egos,' a source told The Mirror. 'Chris and Robbie were being egged on by pals sitting on their tables. They were on opposite sides of the room but were calling each other's bluff. Before long the whole room was egging them on. It was clear neither of them wanted to be outdone. They are both millionaires with cash to spare, so they were up for the challenge."One onlooker added, 'Chris was offering to buy drinks for everyone. He was also posing for pictures with his newly-acquired flag. He seemed very proud to have won it at auction.' '

Robbie Williams Heads To Intensive Care

'Friday August 26, 2005 @ 03:30 PM
By: ChartAttack.com Staff

Robbie Williams will be taking another shot at cracking North America when his new album Intensive Care is released on October 25.
Recorded in Los Angeles, the new record follows 2003's Escapology, which had little success stateside despite a large promotional push. This time around, his new single 'Tripping' will hit radio stations in September.
In a press release, Williams describes Intensive Care as 'something like a mini-gangster opera.' Perhaps he's looking to 50 Cent for tips on how to break into the North American market.
The album's launch takes place outside of the U.K. for the first time at a one-off gig at the Velodrom in Berlin on October 9. This sell-out concert will be broadcast in high definition on cinemas across Europe and shown on TV at a later date. The Velodrom show is another of Williams' live performance films, which include shows at Slane Castle and Knebworth.
Despite six of his albums reaching #1 on the U.K. charts, most of North America forgot about the tabloid favourite after The Ego Has Landed.'

New Robbie Williams album due October

Quoted from: http://www.stuff.co.nz

'26 August 2005
LONDON: Pop star Robbie Williams, an enigma in America despite huge international success, will release his sixth solo album in Europe on October 24.
Intensive Care, which Williams has been recording in Los Angeles for the past two years, marks the follow-up to the 2003 chart-topper release Escapology.
It is unknown when, or if, Intensive Care will be released in North America. Despite a strong promotional push in an attempt to expand Williams' global reach, Escapology flopped across the Atlantic, selling just 136,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

CHEER UP, SON: Despite failing in his bid to crack America, Robbie Williams will give it another go and plans to release a new album later this year. Reuters

The new album's first single, Tripping, is described by Williams on his website as 'something like a mini-gangster opera.' It will be issued to European radio outlets beginning September 5 ahead of its October 3 release at retail.
Williams, a former member of boy-band Take That, is one of Europe's biggest hit-makers, with 18 top 10 singles and six No. 1 albums in the UK alone. According to EMI, he has shifted 35 million albums worldwide.
Williams will play a one-off show October 9 at the 12,000 capacity Velodrom in Berlin. The concert will be simultaneously broadcast at cinemas across Europe. Television broadcasts are also being lined up.'

Lee Ryan: pleasantly skitz

Quoted from: http://www.lnreview.co.uk/

'August 25, 2005
Do we need Robbie Williams any more? Did we ever? Obviously it's dangerous to make sweeping statements about a person you know only through tabloid distortions and the skewed lens of fame, but Robbie Williams has always struck me as a prick. A cocky fraud with a empty twinkle in his twonky eye. An annoying, jumped-up flapper. A bore. A prick.*
So that's Robbie.
Now. Lee Ryan. Let's compare. Lee Ryan is just as buffed and boisterous. He's fresh from a boy band. And he's ploughing that George Michael furrow that Robbie so ploddingly ploughed after Take That. They're competitors.
Robbie's appeal is meant to be that he's a bit brazen, a bit 'out-there', a wild card, a ladies man (!), the cheeky chappy you can't help but like. The kind of guy girls fancy and men want to be.** He's an entertainer. That's his big ticket. A crowd pleaser. Tongue out, shorts dropped. Wa-hey!
What does Robbie do that Lee doesn't do better? No one currently at work in the music industry can drop his shorts and get his cock out like Lee Ryan. Not even Van Morrison.
Robbie and Lee can both sort of sing. Lee's new album is tremendously bland, but at the same time it's surprisingly inoffensive (except where its blandness becomes a bit too Aztec Camera-ish, like on 'Close To You'). It's cheesy, but I quite like the song 'When I Think Of You'. And 'Miss My Everything' isn't a bad Stevie Wonder pastiche. Basically - if you want to buy an album by someone you want to have intercourse with, then it does the job. It exists. And it doesn't make you giddy and violent.
And there's no denying: measured against his peers, Lee Ryan strikes you as someone it would be quite interesting to have intercourse with. He's obviously genitally fixated - like boys at school who think it's a brilliant laugh to get their cock out at the back of the class and wrap it up in elastic bands. But he's fixated in a fairly harmless way. He has gasping sexual needs - but he's not needy like Paul Danan. He's not creepy. He's funny.
Where Robbie has a nauseating swagger, Lee skitters along like a mentalist. Lee is obviously a bit of a prick, but in a strangely endearing way. His obsession with ghosts and the afterlife, for example: 'Chat to the ghosts! That's what I do!' - or: 'I think about dying a lot.'
And even when he talks about being a-bit-mad-me, he wins you over with his choice of words: 'What happens was, I was a baby and I was crawling along and she closed the garage door on me. That's why I'm a bit skitz!'
That's what all our pop stars should be: a bit skitz. It makes being a bit of a prick so much easier to swallow.'

Robbie Williams will be advertising a radio station

'Robbie Williams will start working with a Polish radio station, Radio Zet in Autumn. Un-official sources have confirmed that the contract with the artisit has been already signed. The details of the advertising campaign aren't know. Last year, on the 13 of September, Radio Zet launched a advertising campaign with another pop star-Madonna. It cost the radio station over 10 million dollars. The campaign shocked a lot of people. They used Madonna's clips, "adding on" a polish actors voice, Zbigniew Zamachowski. The campaign didn't make as much as it was thought it would, the frequency of listeners didn't grow. Radio Zet is still a long way a way from the top polish radio RMF FM. ROBBIE Williams and The Beatles could take centre stage in a new rock hall of fame at the Millennium Dome.
Record industries bosses are in talks with the Dome's owners Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) about building a British Music Hall of Fame there.
A spokesman for the music business trade association the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) confirmed 'advanced negotiations' had taken place about the plans.
He said a site for the hall of fame, next to the proposed O2 music club, had already been earmarked.
The hall of fame will commemorate the best of British popular music and big-hitters
like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Robbie Williams are likely to be early inductees.
BPI chairman Peter Jamieson said: 'We have been hugely impressed by AEG's plans to transform the building into a world-class entertainment venue. There has been talk about creating a permanent British Music Hall of Fame for a decade, but with Anschutz's help I am optimistic we can turn that dream into a reality.'

Ghostly telly show MOST HAUNTED is a surprise cult hit, scaring a million brits out of their wits each week. With spine-chilling locations, jerky night-vision cameras and petrified crew looking for spooks, it has built up a loyal following. It even has an army of celebrity fans. Robbie Williams has become hooked and introduced the living TV show to his Hollywood pals. The singer has even had a personal reading from medium and show presenter Derek Acorah, where he communicated with his dead gran.Derek, 55, now the country's best-known ghost hunter, says "Robbie invited me to his apartment in London. He was really friendly and started calling me Degsey immediately.

"We chatted and he told me how much he loved the programme. He said he had given Most Haunted DVDs to lots of friends including Robert De Niro, Danny DeVito and Billy Crystal and that they were all hooked on the show."We sat chatting for while but i noticed he had something on his mind, i sensed he needed reassurance so i offered to do a reading."I was able to contact a couple of his loved ones, including his grandmother, whom he dearly loved. It was very emotional, he was moved to tears. But he was thilled that i was able to make contact. She told him some personal things he said only she would know."And he was gobsmacked when his gran gave her opinion about a women he had asked on a date."I can't say who it was but he couldn't believe it saying, "No one, knows that. It only happened 36 hours ago."Robbie's spiritual encounter continued even after Derek left."I told him it was likely his gran would do something in the apartment after i had gone to let him know she really was there."When i was in the car on the way home Robbie texted me to say the television had gone blurred, there was a loud knock on the bathroom door and he heard shuffling by his pool table. I told him that was his grandmother."Robbie wrote Nan's song on his Escapology album for his grandmother Betty. He also has a B tattooed behind his left ear in memory of her. '

But just 15 minutes before the ceremony, politically correct bureaucrats barred the tune by Robbie, as it contains the word heaven giving it 'religious connotations'. Angels ... Is this a Smart way to see the lions? I don't think so

Remember this one?

Uh-huh? Then you should read this:

Quoted from http://www.telegraph.co.uk:

'By Nigel Bunyan(Filed: 17/08/2005)

This, then, is fear: not skydiving from 10,000ft without a parachute, but facing being eaten alive by lions while in a car slightly bigger than a vacuum cleaner.
The ultimate in white knuckle rides began with reports that, for some reason probably known only to Sir David Attenborough, lions have a fascination for the Mercedes-built Smart car.

Passengers eye view of 'petrol
head' lion at Knowsley Safari Park

Compared with most other vehicles it is the closest thing to providing a possible tasty snack: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.
So here I am, just before feeding time, strapped inside a Smart deep in the lion enclosure of Knowsley Safari Park, near Liverpool.
The experiment begins with the tiniest of tiny cars nosing its way into a queue of more conventional traffic. There are beefy SUVs, plus the usual everyday family cars - but none of these raises more than a yawn.
Only when the Smart slips into view do they begin to take an interest. Lunch, they seem to be saying. In a black wrapper. How novel.
Perhaps they can smell the fear. Perhaps, after watching thousands of vehicles pass by every year, they have fathomed that for all its rigid steel cage the Smart has plastic panels.
The pride leader is the first to move from his den. He cocks his head, stretches, and then begins to trot towards the car. He is quickly followed by five of his harem. If anything, the lionesses are even more interested in this odd dish.
I try to heed the advice of David Ross, the park's general manager. Nothing sudden, nothing rash. Oh, and for goodness sake, don't open the window.
Slowly the car is taken through its gears. A nudge to first, another to second. Just coasting. Just casual.
Nearly there.
One of the lionesses has run to within an inch of the driver's door, three inches and a layer of plastic from its potential prey. Me.
But mercifully she veers away, resisting the feline temptation to test the strength of the door catch.
Fortunately, too, the animals behind her do not possess the collective nous to see how well the Smart might fare in a sideways roll. By the time they have all passed by the Smart remains intact, supreme, a triumph of lightness and form.
Regrettably, however, it also resembles not so much a mode of transport as a portable sauna. The windows have steamed up and from inside comes muttering about danger money.
Mr Ross is roaring with laughter from the more obvious safety of his Swedish-built executive motor. "Just look at him," he guffaws. "He's absolutely petrified.'" He is so right.
Mr Ross believes that his lions are attracted to the Smart because it is quirky. "This started when a couple of girls went round the enclosure in a Smart car. It is a pretty rare car and the lions took an interest in it. They ran across to get a closer view and the girls panicked. As they put their foot down the lions thought, 'The chase is on.' "
Mr Ross is happy to assure Smart drivers that they are in very little danger of becoming lunch. Wardens in Land Rovers are ready to intervene should the lions take an unhealthy interest.
"It could all end in tears, of course, but basically they are just being inquisitive," he says. "I have been here for 34 years and, although we've had some near scrapes, we have never lost anyone."
And would he like to take the Smart car challenge. Er, not today, thanks. Wimp.'

Let me entertain you... on your mobile phone

Quoted from: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/

'By Paul Kendall and Natalie McGourty
(Filed: 14/08/2005)

He has had worldwide sales of more than 32 million and has had 19 top 10 hits, but that is still not enough for Robbie Williams. The 31-year-old singer will make his mark again in October when the singles from his new album are made available to mobile telephone users two days before they go on sale on CD.

Williams, his record company EMI and the mobile telephone operator T-Mobile have agreed an 18-month deal to give music fans exclusive access to songs on their telephones before they reach record shops. The release of Trippin', from the new album Intensive Care, is expected to be the first new single to reach fans via the mobile network.
Each song will cost from £1.50 to download, the same as T-Mobile charges for a ring tone.
Following in the wake of Crazy Frog, the mobile telephone ring tone that topped the charts in May, the deal is the latest leap forward in the digital music revolution. Digital music downloaded from the internet and mobile telephones is becoming increasingly popular and is expected to account for 20 per cent of all music sales in Britain by 2008.
The mobile telephone networks Vodafone, Orange and O2 already provide a catalogue of 500,000, 300,000 and 185,000 tracks respectively (at a cost of between £1 and £1.50 each) on a limited range of handsets. On Friday, Sony Ericsson launched its new Walkman telephone and later this year Nokia is expected to bring out a music telephone capable of storing 1,000 songs, the same volume as an iPod mini. Apple is also jumping on the bandwagon, teaming up with Motorola to produce an iTunes telephone.
Matthis Immel, the vice-president of consumer marketing at T-Mobile, said the deal with Williams heralded a new era for the music and communications industries.
"Mobile phones are set to become the dominant digital music players," he said. "Three hundred million people have mobile phones in Europe and within five to six years the majority of phones will have digital music capability. That far exceeds the number of iPods."
The increased capacity of mobile telephones to download and play music would also affect the way people shopped, he said. "If you hear a song you like on the radio while you're in your car, you'll be able to download it immediately."
John Leahy, the marketing and creative director of EMI Records, said the partnership "signposted the way forward in the music business" but it was unlikely that digital music telephones would replace the CD and CD player.
"Mobile phones are a new market, but CD sales are still very important to us and will be in the foreseeable future. CDs will still dominate in five years' time."
Williams said agreements between artists and mobile companies to distribute music would become increasingly popular. "The future is music by mobile," he said.
The partnership might be good news for mobile telephone networks, established musicians and large record companies. However, the trend might make some overnight wonders even more transient.
Paul Rees, the editor of Q magazine, pointed out that music lovers were bombarded by more songs from more sources than ever before.
"You used to hear singles only on Top of the Pops or Radio One. Now there are far more outlets," he said. "People become aware of music quicker. That's why there's such a quick turnaround of artists.
"A band like Keane, for example, can, in the space of 12 months come from nowhere and sell 1.4 million albums. But another band can take their place just as quickly." '

Robbie wants to be the first to play New Wembley

Quoted from: http://www.mirror.co.uk/

' ER.. MUSIC, THAT IS, NOT FOOTBALL
By Graham Brough

ROBBIE Williams is in talks with Wembley Stadium bosses to stage a massive pop concert as soon as it opens.
He wants to play to 80,000 fans in a record-breaking series of five nightly concerts next June.
But dates cannot be fixed for certain as the super stadium may not be ready on time. Contractors are already racing against time to get it finished for the FA Cup final in May.
A spokesman for Wembley National Stadium said: "A few musicians are discussing possible dates with us but we can confirm that Robbie Williams is particularly keen to perform and discussions are ongoing." He added: "Clearly only well-established acts like Robbie will be able to fill such a space, but he has already demonstrated that ability."
The Stoke-born star, 31, has been buoyed by the success of Live 8 - when he thrilled the 150,000-strong crowd at Hyde Park last month. Millions more around the globe watched on TV.
A management insider said yesterday: "Dates are still being discussed so it's too early to go public."
But music expert Philip Dodd said: "It might seem daring to take on Wembley for a week but realistically Robbie is one of the few British acts who can actually do it - and in style." '

Who's searching for look-a-like's?

Quoted from: http://www.sky.com/

'Do you look like Robbie Williams? My mole reveals that the singing star is looking for 25 Robbies through the years for his latest video. The great news is that his new album, Intensive Care, is all now completed apart from the remixing - but Robbie has three single ideas on the go and one is called Tripping. My spies reveal: 'The video dairy is Robbie through the years and will see him from a fresh-faced tattoo-less budding pop artist, right through to the mega star we know and love today.' The hook is that all the 'stars' for the video will be genuine Robbie look-a-likes and not people from agencies. His team want to capture the true essence of what Robbie was and now is. Look out for details soon about the album, single and planned video on websites. Insiders tell me: 'His new album is his finest to date, hence the reason he plans a massive tour in 2006 too.' '

My life after Robbie

Quoted from: http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/

'Since dating Robbie Williams, it's been a rollercoaster of a year for Lisa Brash. She opens her heart to Chief Features Writer Beth Neil about her battle with depression, her children and why today life has never been sweeter. Lisa Brash is a gobby girl. It's true - she says so herself. It wouldn't take five pints of lager, a few double vodkas and a whisky chaser to raise Brashy's spirits. She's already a whirlwind of energy, talks at the speed of a freight train and gets straight to the point. Brash by name, brash by nature.
'I'm always getting told I speak too fast,' she apologises. 'I'm learning to slow down but I just love talking. I'd talk all night in my sleep if I could. 'It was this down-to-earth and bubbly nature which first caught the eye of Robbie Williams last October. The pop showman was enjoying a few drinks at the Malmaison on Newcastle's Quayside after watching his big mate Jonathan Wilkes star in Sky One's The Match at St James' Park. Lisa, now 32, dressed in an old pair of jeans and swigging a pint of lager, was at the same bash. Robbie, who has voiced his desire to settle down with an everyday, girl-next-door type, spotted her across the bar, sidled up and the pair started chatting. 'When he introduced himself I was like: 'OH MY GOD!' ' says the South Shields mum-of-two. 'But he's such a natural person, he puts people at ease straight away. He has a gift. We talked for ages and there was a real connection there. We were on the same wavelength. 'It was the start of one of the most intense relationships Lisa reckons she'll ever experience. But the meeting also signalled the beginning of a media frenzy which left her deeply depressed and caused her children, Jeffrey Junior (JJ), 13, and seven-year-old Harley, to be bullied at school. The press went crazy over Robbie's latest girl. It was a cracking story. She wasn't a model, she wasn't an actress. She was a probation officer and a single mum from an ordinary house in an ordinary street. But it's nearly destroyed Lisa. She has spent 2005 slowly rebuilding her life and recovering from the breakdown of the relationship with the man she says broke her heart. 'It's been Hell,' she says. 'There have been days when I haven't been able to get out of my jim jams to leave the house, I've been so down. Maybe I was naive but I never expected any of this to happen. Since the nationals got hold of the story my life has never been the same. I know there are good journalists and bad journalists but there are some national papers I will never speak to again. The people who know me know how difficult it's been for me and the kids. It's not easy having your heart broken, but it's even tougher going through it in the public eye.' The week after Lisa went down to stay at Robbie's London apartment, a national tabloid splashed with the kiss and tell story. No salacious detail spared, readers were treated to Robbie's bedroom antics, his seduction technique and his pillow talk. Robbie was understandably furious and Lisa was left devastated. But she insists she never sold her story. 'I was stitched up,' she explains. 'My kids were petrified by what was happening. We had reporters hammering on the door, paparazzi jumping out of bushes. So I decided to get us out of the country for a holiday in Florida. While we were out there I was befriended by a couple who said they were lawyers in New York. They told me they couldn't have children but if they could they'd hope they were like mine. I warmed to them. I ended up talking to them about everything that had been going on. It turned out they were undercover reporters who had followed me on the plane out there. They had recorded everything I said and the next thing I know it was all over a Sunday tabloid. They had pictures of me in my bikini. I felt awful at the thought of my offenders back home ogling their probation officer.' Even when she returned to the UK, Lisa was still being pestered by the media. She was advised to come out and tell her story once and for all to kill off the lingering interest. 'I didn't want to go to a national paper because of the way I'd been treated,' she says. 'So I spoke to a magazine. But they didn't put anything in about how I'd been duped. I was gutted. Then another tabloid ran a story which I had asked them not to. The whole thing was escalating out of control.' Lisa eventually decided to go on the Trisha show and set the record straight. Her head was all over the place and her memories of the time are hazy. 'By this time my life was a complete mess,' she says. 'I had never wanted to sell myself out but it looked like that's exactly what I'd done. I was so low and taking anti-depressants. I felt awful, absolutely terrible. My children were getting bullied at school and I knew it was my fault. The kids would get JJ in a headlock and say: 'Tell yer mam's rich boyfriend to give me a million pounds'. Or they'd tell him I was a prostitute who slept with popstars for money. I went to meetings at the school because it got to the point where JJ had to spend his break times sitting in a classroom by himself. My mobile phone had been tapped into and the papers had got hold of text messages. They sent a bunch of flowers with a microphone buried in the bouquet. I spotted it almost straight away and took the flowers down to my nana and grandad's grave. 'Sit and listen to them talk instead,' I thought. I decided to do Trisha to try and put an end to everything. To say, 'this is what's happened, it's all over now, please leave me alone'. 'But it was that television appearance which alerted the producers at bid tv to Lisa's charm. With her earthy rawness, slim figure and pretty face, they thought she might be what they were looking for. They got in touch and after screen tests and training, just a few months later, she's presenting on the channel full time and being watched by three million viewers a month. It's meant a move away from the North East down to London, but although it was her biggest decision yet, Lisa doesn't see it as such a huge sacrifice. As things were, life in South Shields was still miserable for her and the children. The cruel jibes in the street have never abated and Lisa found it impossible to carry on with her job in the probation service. 'It's been a tough decision but I think it's the right one,' she says. 'South Shields is a very small town and I couldn't go anywhere without getting comments about Rob thrown at me. I don't know if it was a jealousy thing, but it was nasty.' Plus the job I loved became a nightmare. I was proud of being a probation officer but things would never have been normal again. My offenders would always know me as 'Robbie Williams' ex-bird.' That's all they wanted to speak about. It wasn't fair on my offenders and it wasn't fair on my colleagues. And in the end I realised it was best for me and the kids to make a fresh start somewhere else.' Just to prove how deadly serious she is, Lisa has put the family home back in Shields on the market. 'I've done it now,' she says through gritted teeth. 'I decided to sell up so in a few months time if I was feeling a bit homesick I didn't have the option to quit everything and come home. It hasn't been sold yet so if anyone's interested... I'm determined to make a go of this. Everything happens for a reason and every cloud has a silver lining. It's an amazing opportunity and I'm not going to waste it. And if I become very successful then I'd like to use my position to do charity work for drugs awareness. 'She stops herself mid-flow. 'Oh God! Listen to me. Charidee! How very cheesy. Honestly, what am I like? But it's true. I'll never forget my links with the probation service. Mind, I'm terrified the nationals will jump on me and go on about making money on the back of Rob. But Rob's not the one who has to stand and talk at the camera for three hours.' She might be excited about the future, but Lisa admits it was a wrench leaving behind family and friends. Her parents hosted a big leaving do for her at the Marsden Rattler last weekend and when Lisa got up to make a speech, the whole place was in tears. 'It was very emotional,' she says. 'You'd have thought I'd won an Oscar the way I went on! I thanked my mam and dad for everything they'd done and said how desperately I was going to miss them. My parents have been my rock for the last 10 months and I don't have a clue how I would've got through it all without them.' For the next few weeks Harley and JJ will stay with Lisa's mum and dad while she settles into life down South. Both children start at schools in the capital in September. 'Harley thinks she's going to be living next door to Ant and Dec so she's happy,' laughs Lisa. 'Well, I suppose they're in Chiswick and we're renting a flat in Richmond so we're kind of neighbours. She's a proper little drama queen, just like her mam, so I'm going to try and get her into a good drama school later. 'Lisa's reluctant to say whether she and Robbie are still in touch, but she does confirm that she's currently single. 'There are no hard feelings,' she says. 'I know how to get in contact with him if I need to. I think he's an amazing guy and I have so much respect for him. I'm very lucky we had the time together we did. If we'd been left alone by the media it could have been something really special. Definitely. But there's no man in my life at the minute. I'm just pining for my kids. I don't have any friends down here yet so I'm completely on my own. But it won't take me long to meet people. I'm a gobby Northerner, how hard can it be?'

Take That star Donald 'snubbed by Williams management'

Quoted from: http://www.contactmusic.com

'Ex-TAKE THAT star HOWARD DONALD finds it so difficult to get in touch with his former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS, the pair haven't spoken in years.
Donald still keeps in contact with the other members of the British boyband - GARY BARLOW, JASON ORANGE and MARK OWEN - but has so far not been granted access to Williams by his management.
Donald says, 'I've not seen Robbie and I don't see him when I visit the rest of the guys. Whenever I go up north (England) I try and see Gary, Jason and Mark. All of us have been in London and there's no reason why I've not spoken to him - we have no animosity. I'd like to soon, but the problem is getting us together. We all have our own lives and careers and meeting up involves loads of managers. It's not like you can just pick up the phone.' '

Elton: Live8 was anti-climax

Quoted from: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk

'It was dubbed the greatest show on earth, but superstar Sir Elton John has criticised Live 8 for lacking a "sense of occasion"
The singer said there were not enough musical highlights, despite Madonna, Robbie Williams, Pink Floyd, The Who, Sir Paul McCartney and Coldplay taking to the Hyde Park stage.
Sir Elton, who is known for getting into trouble over his frank views, told The Daily Telegraph: "I thought it was a bit of an anti-climax, to be honest.
"The thought behind it was fantastic, but Hyde Park is a charisma-free zone. There was no sense of occasion and from a musical point, I didn't think there were were too many highlights.
"I was very pleased to be part of it," he added "but I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the first one. How could it be ?"
The flamboyant star duetted at the July 2 extravaganza with Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty, whose performance of Children of the Revolution was described as a shambles.
Multi-millionaire Sir Elton, 58, described wayward Doherty as "a mess", adding "it's really sad", and blamed his performance on being "really nervous on the day".
The historic concert was organised by Bob Geldof to raise awareness of the plight in Africa before the world's most powerful leaders met at the G8 summit in Gleneagles.
Millions watched around the world as Coldplay's Chris Martin described the event as "the greatest thing that's ever been organised, probably in the history of the world".
But the concert was criticised for not inviting enough black or African stars to perform, and for failing to highlight the impending crisis in Niger, which has left 2.5 million people facing death.
French foreign minister Philippe Douste-Blazy recently attacked the event, saying: "We don't just want big announcements at summits and rock concerts and afterwards nothing."
Sir Elton, who in the past has offended Madonna for saying she mimes on stage and George Michael for "wasting his talent", also admits in the interview that he's "not really a lover of musicals" despite penning the score for Billy Elliot. '

Fearne Cotton fancies Robbie Williams

Quoted from: http://news.softpedia.com

'Top of the Pops host Fearne Cotton confessed she really likes Robbie Williams a lot and that she's upset she didn't accept to go out with him when she had the opportunity. A few weeks ago, while Cotton was interviewing Williams during the Live 8 concert, Robbie told her: "You're single, I'm single, I live in LA, I've got dogs, come and live with me in LA, let's get it on!"Beautiful Fearne, 23, who confessed she remained calm during
the interview, has recently declared: "I went bright red when I met him. I really fancy him."She told to Heat magazine: "Robbie's got lovely, oceany eyes. He smells delicious. A touch babyfied with that nice, fresh smell of just-washed clothes.""He's a really sweet guy, he's really funny and has a brilliant sense of humour," she continued. “He always says 'hi' to the crew and is polite to everyone. He's just a real charmer. He could charm anyone. It's quite impossible not to fancy him. His whole aura and charisma... He's such an attractive person in that way. I've always cheekily fancied him."She added: "After Live 8, Jonathan Ross said, 'It's a day about Making Poverty History and Getting Robbie Laid!'"Fearne also confessed she came to US to film a new series for BBC1 and that she's staying near Robbie's house in Los Angeles."He told me to give him a ring next time I was out there and go round for coffee. I haven't got his number - he said he'd give it to me later but I didn't bump into him. If I'm out in LA, I'll maybe go over to his house." '

EMI sings praises of mobile video downloads

Quoted from: http://www.vnunet.com

' EMI and mobile phone operator 3 have signed a deal to make the record company's entire catalogue of mobile music available for download.
EMI, which handles entertainers like Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Coldplay, Joss Stone and Norah Jones, will run an EMI top 100 tracks for download, either in MP3 or ACC format. Virgin and Chrysalis, who are also part of the EMI Group, will also be making music available.
“Music is one of our most popular services and through this deal our customers will be able to enjoy the very latest audio tracks from top artists like Kylie, Robbie and Coldplay,” said Bob Fuller, chief executive of 3 UK.
Last year 3 made Robbie William's latest album available for download before it hit the shops and the company has already signed a similar deal with Sony BMG and several independent music companies.
Last week analysts at Informa estimated the total market for music downloads would be worth $11bn by 2010, although piracy could make inroads into this. Meanwhile handset manufacturers are already bringing in new models aimed at the mobile music sector.
