Robbie Williams to tour Australia

Quoted from: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/

'Wednesday Nov 30 15:22 AEDT
British pop superstar Robbie Williams will tour Australia next December.
"I'm coming to Australia," the 31-year-old today told Nine Network entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins.
"There's another million tickets going on sale. I'm coming, no need to mount a complaint."
Local fans of the controversial star have often felt snubbed by him, with several world tours skipping Australia for less long-haul destinations.
"It's part of the world tour, funnily enough, [in] December," he said. "That's a long way away, sorry I can't make it any earlier."
The news came at the same time Williams was entered into the famed Guinness Book of World Records by selling more than 1.5 million tickets for this tour, worth $187 million, in just one day, November 19.
He snatched the record from US star Justin Timberlake's former group, 'N Sync, who held it for five years.
Tickets for the Australian arm of the concert go on sale early next year.

Rolling Stones Beat Robbie Williams To Wembley

Rolling_stones_wembley_european_tour_1'Filed in in Music

The Rolling Stones touring machine is coming back to Europe next year. And, even better, they've managed to annoy Robbie Williams in the process by getting to play Wembley first.
Robbie had always wanted to be the first British artist to play a concert in the new Wembley Stadium when it opens next summer. But he can't, because The Rolling Stones have beaten him to it. Of course, if Robbie really wants to be the first British artist to play Wembley, he could just ask The Rolling Stones if he can be their support act. But he probably hasn't thought of that.
The Rolling Stones (CDs) today confirmed the European leg of their Bigger Bang world tour. Kicking off on Saturday May 27 2006 at Barcelona's Olympic Stadium, the crotchety old men will play across Holland, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, UK, Poland, Austria, The Czech Republic, Russia, Greece, Croatia, Serbia & Montenegro, Portugal, Denmark, Switzerland and Ireland before clambering into their walk-in baths for a lovely rest and some delicious Murray Mints.
Their UK dates start with a show at the newly-rebuilt Wembley Stadium on August 20th, followed by dates in Sheffield, Cardiff and Glasgow. Talking to GMTV, Mick Jagger said:
"If we were bored to death, honestly I don't think we would do it... We do enjoy ourselves doing it. Everyone has been saying 'How come they can enjoy themselves? They should be bored to death doing this'. On this tour, everyone's saying 'Wow, they're even more enthusiastic than they were on the last tour'. We're still having a lot of fun."
And the truckloads of cash they're making probably doesn't hurt, either. Tickets for The Rolling Stones European Bigger Bang Tour - including hundreds of onstage seats for each date - go on sale on Saturday.
Although the Stones will be the first British band to play the new Wembley Stadium, at least Robbie Williams can take pleasure in the fact that he's playing the stadium five nights in a row and the Rolling Stones aren't. But they've both been nobbled by Bon Jovi, who will be the first-ever band to play the new Wembley Stadium with all their identical songs about walking down the one-way road of life and stuff.'

Is Robbie Williams erratic because of anti-depressants?

Quoted from: http://www.entertainmentwise.com/

'His childhood sweetheart says yes...

By: Lowri Williams on

Robbie Williams is a bastard!!! He persuaded his childhood sweetheart to give up her life in Britain to move with him to LA before dumping her a few days later!!!

Williams told Rachel Gilson that she was 'The One' and talked her into leaving her UK based boyfriend to set up home in LA.
Gilson was living at Robbie's Beverley Hill's mansion for just 5 days before Robbie asked her to move out.
Gilson has now been left with the belief that Robbie is simply too famous to have a real relationship.
Gilson told the Sunday Mirror: "I thought it was for real. But he's just too famous for it to work. It's heartbreaking.
"We are two people who should be together, but we just can't work it out. I don't think we'll ever get married. It would be the best story ever, but I don't ever think it's going to happen."
A friend of Rachel's also said: "She loves Rob and he loves her but she knows it's destroying them both. She blames his eccentric behaviour on his use of anti-depressants."

Robbie Williams asked sweetheart to live with him

Quoted from: http://www.entertainmentwise.com

'Then sent her packing after five days!...

By: Jeff Ando on
Robbie Williams persuaded his childhood sweetheart to abandon Britain and move to California with him - then dumped her after less than a week.
Rachel Gilson sacrificed everything - including her boyfriend - when Robbie begged her to set up home with him in Los Angeles this summer. However, after four days at the singer's Beverly Hills mansion, Williams told her it wasn't working and sent her packing the next day.
During her stay Gilson was shocked by the star's behaviour, the bizarreness of which she blamed on his anti-depressants.
In his recent autobiography Williams described Gilson as his "one and only true love".
"I thought it was for real," she says sadly. "But he's just too famous for it to work."
Being an absolute twat probably doesn't help either...

Robbie Williams to destroy 'Saturday Night Fever'

Quoted from: http://www.hecklerspray.com/

Saturday_night_fever 'Filed in in Film Gossip

70's flick Saturday Night Fever has got something of an unfair reputation. Far from being the cheesy dance-marathon that the people who organise 'School Disco' nights would have you believe, its actually a dark slice of drama with one of the most unsympathetic leading characters in mainstream cinema.
Not that this means anything to The Bee Gees (CDs), though.
In a move which will surely delight Bacardi-swilling checkout girls, the remaining Gibb brothers are rumoured to be hatching plans of a 'big-budget remake', featuring none other than gurning pantomime simpleton Robbie Williams (CDs).
God only knows what sort of celluloid nightmare these rumours (if true) are going to throw up. Whereas Travolta played his original part with sneering and vicious gusto, chances are that ickle Robbie's legions of PR people will want their dullard employer portrayed in a more sympathetic light.
In short, hecklerspray says: expect awfulness.
Horrifying questions arise. Where is this epic going to be set? Are we to see the inner-city coolness of the original replaced by somewhere thoroughly British - you know, some godforsaken town centre where any visiting aliens would instantly assume the place was acting as some sort of Scum Breeding Program? Like Watford?
Of course, the alternative beckon. If it is set in the States, we may well be treated to Williams attempting an American accent. And - seeing as his idea of performing consists of raising an eyebrow and nodding in time to the music - something tells us that his thespian abilities may not be in the Olivier category.
Still. Maybe hecklerspray has misjudged the cinema-going mood a little. It could be said that we don't always have our finger on the national pulse. Many people, for example, like to refer to young Robbie as a loveable 'cheeky chappie'.
Whereas we just prefer the term 'cunt'.

Robbie Williams 20/1 for Christmas number 1 single

Quoted from: http://www.readabet.com
You can watch the odds and even place a bet on this site too!

'With just a month to go and counting... and the runners pretty much declared, the race for the Christmas No.1's is starting to warm up.
HMV and William Hill have teamed up to offer their chart predictions, comments and the very latest odds.
HMV's Top 10 Predicted Singles - Christmas Week (w/c 19 Dec - chart announced 25 Dec)
1. X-Factor winner - title tba (21/12) William Hill Odds 2/5
2. Nizlopi 'JCB Song' (12/12) odds 9/2
3. Westlife with Diana Ross 'When You Tell Me That You Love Me' (12/12) odds 9/1
4. Girls Aloud 'See the Day' (19/12) odds 25/1
5. Keedie with the England Cricket Team 'Jerusalem' (12/12) odds 10/1
6. McFly 'Ultraviolet / Ballad of Paul K' (12/12) 0dds 50/1
7. The Choirboys 'Tears in Heaven' (19/12) odds 12/1
8. Robbie Williams ' Advertising Space' (12/12) odds 20/1
9. Mariah Carey / 'Don't Forget About Us' (12/12) odds 50/1
10. Crazy Frog 'Jingle Bells / Can't Touch This' (12/12) odds 20/1

Other contenders
Sugababes 'Ugly' (5/12) odds 50/1, Tony Christie / Merry Xmas Everyone (5/12) odds 33/1, Santa '(Is This the Way To) Amarillo (Santa's Grotto)' (19/12) odds 33/1, Coldplay / Talk (19/12) odds 40/1

Stewart Allan, HMV Singles Buyer

"This is potentially one of the most open races for the Christmas No.1 in years. There's a very strong chance it will be the X-Factor winner, but a lot depends on who actually wins it and, with the single being released midweek, whether it can make up for two days missing sales by the time the chart is announced on Christmas Day.

"Westlife would have been serious contenders, but their single is out the week before, although this should help them to secure their 14th UK No.1, so the main challenge would appear to come from the very touching Nizlopi 'JCB' release, which has a wonderful video and could be this year's 'Gary Jules'. Other contenders include Girls Aloud, the England Cricket Team and The Choirboys."

Rupert Adams,William Hill

"The X Factor winner is definitely the one to beat but as a result there are some fantastic prices available for other contender such as Robbie at 20/1, Girls Aloud 25/1 and there is no such thing as a certainty in the Xmas 1 market."

Robbie Williams' panto plans

Quoted from: http://www.inthenews.co.uk/

'Friday, 25 Nov 2005 11:42

All the world's a stage apparently, and singing superstar Robbie Williams, is moving from one type to another.

The smug crooner has revealed that he is temporarily hanging up the mic to appear in a Christmas pantomime. And to prove that the LA-based singer has not forgotten his roots, he plans to do the panto in his home-town of Stoke on Trent. Kind of. The catch is that the citizens of the Potteries will not be able to get near their famous export, in person, as he will be appearing in Mother Goose via a video link-up alongside the wacky duo Ant and Dec. Robbie's best pal Jonathan Wilkes - best remembered for being a completely ineffectual presenter on You've Been Framed - is these days a stage veteran and was the driving force behind Robbie's decision to appear. Wilkes said: "As soon as Robbie knew I was doing panto, he didn't like the fact that he wasn't. I was talking about the pantomime at dinner and he said he wanted to be in it, as did Ant and Dec. "This is the first time you'll see Rob in panto. If that's not a reason to see it, I don't know what is. Robbie and I are both very proud of Stoke-on-Trent. We'll try to give a great show this Christmas." Robbie is said to have recorded his part in Bristol last month under the supervision of the panto's director.'

Robbie Williams: Take that, boys

BRITISH pop star Robbie Williams has entered the Guinness World Records by selling more than 1.6 million tickets for his world tour in one day.
The heart-throb singer takes the five-year-old record from US star Justin Timberlake's former group, NSync.
In 2000, the boy band sold one million tickets in one day for their No Strings Attached US tour, worth $54 million.
Tickets to Williams' 2006 tour, worth $187 million, sold out in hours on November 19.
Guinness editor Craig Glenday called it "a proud day for British pop".
Rumours abound that Williams' former boy band, Take That, will reform without him after a 10-year absence from the charts.'

TAKE THAT Prepare to relight the fire -- Without Robbie WIlliams

Quoted from: http://www.thedailyjournalonline.com

' LONDON - They broke the hearts of legions of teenage girls when they split a decade ago. But now Take That, the biggest boy band of the early 1990s, is to reform for a UK tour - without Robbie Williams.
Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen will dust off their old hits for 11 arena concerts next year. Only Williams has remained successful in the music industry since the members of the band went their separate ways, but their record company is confident that fans will rush to buy tickets for the shows out of a sense of nostalgia. A spokesman for the band said: "Take That are excited to be able to get back on stage and thank the fans who have remained loyal since their split in 1996. Many will remember the explosive and creative live shows that Take That put on, with pyrotechnics and perfectly choreographed dance routines." The 2006 tour promises to be no different and will serve as a fitting tribute to their overwhelming success and stature as Britain's ultimate boy band." Take That sold more than nine million albums and ten million singles. A telephone counselling service was set up to help fans to come to terms with their disappointment when the band split up. Although Barlow had two early hits, he failed to make a career as a solo artist and now writes for other singers. Owen's career was briefly back on track when he won Celebrity Big Brother in 2002 and he began a tour playing to small venues last night (Friday). Orange became an actor and Donald a DJ. Interest in the band was revived by a warts-and-all television programme this month which attracted nearly six million viewers. Simon Douglas, an executive director of Virgin Megastores, said: " The comeback tour will be a real money-maker for the boys. Their album went in at No 2 and sold 90,000 in its first week; well beyond expectations." The band members have been offered a reported pounds 1.5million each to go back on the road. At a press conference in a London hotel yesterday (Friday) the four remaining band members, who are now in their 30s, admitted that they would love Robbie Williams to join them. It will not be the first time that Take That has performed without Williams; the band carried on for six months after he left. Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday, December 2.

Williams was happy in Take That, say bandmates

Quoted from: http://breakingnews.iol.ie

Robbie Williams' claims he was miserable while performing in Take That have been rubbished by former members of the British boyband. Gary Barlow and Jason Orange claim Williams, who left Take That in 1995, a year before the group folded, has grossly exaggerated tales of depression to improve his image as a solo artist. Barlow, now a highly-sought after songwriter, says: "When Robbie says he didn't enjoy a day in Take That, it's an absolute lie." I have proof he enjoyed being in Take That because I have tons of on-the-road footage of me and Robbie hugging each other and laughing."I have hundreds of video tapes showing Robbie having a great time. It's all kept in my safe. So he is lying." He turned his back completely on his past in order to move forward." I hated all the things Robbie said about is when we split up. A lot of them were lies and it took me years to forget that." Orange, who gave up his music career when the band split, says: " I'm not saying that he hasn't got emotional issues. But I think Rob is very clever and knows what he should say and how to be a drama queen and exaggerate things." '

After Williams quit the chart-topping British boyband in 1995, he publicly attacked Barlow for the way he was treated when he was a member of the group.
As Williams solo career went stratospheric, Barlow decided not to retaliate - despite his initial instinct - because his popularity was nothing compared to that enjoyed by Williams.
But Barlow is ready to leave the past behind and form a new friendship with the ANGELS hitmaker.
He says, "It's 10 years since I talked to Robbie. I've had messages from friends saying Robbie sends his love and is trying to get in touch.

LONDON: Naomi Campbell's former personal assistant, Rebecca White, has revealed that the supermodel had a year-long affair with singer Robbie Williams at the time of her involvement with Formula 1 team, Renault's boss, Flavio Briatore.White said that though she was aware that the two were acquainted, it became obvious to her that they shared more than just a platonic friendship when she walked into Naomi's bedroom and saw the two in bed."She would talk fondly about Robbie from time to time, so I knew they were acquainted. But the first time I actually met him was that day in February 2001 when I walked into Naomi's bedroom...and found them cuddled up in her bed," News of the World quoted her, as saying. She said that the two spent the entire weekend having sex, and added that they even had her bring food up to the room because they didn't want to leave."The two of them spent that entire weekend cooped up in her bedroom together having sex. I lived in the apartment below and every few hours they would summon me up to bring them food and drink," she said.White said that of the two, it was the supermodel who seemed to be more heavily involved than Williams, adding that when the singer was on tour, Campbell would have her track him down and leave messages for him that were never returned."But in truth the relationship was horribly one-sided and it was Naomi who was doing all the running. Naomi would have me track him down to various hotels and send flowers with the message, 'Thinking of you'. MEXICO CITY - With a large following in Europe and other parts of the world, British pop star Robbie Williams said Friday he has no interest in making major inroads in the United States.
"America has never really been the end piece of the jigsaw for me," he said at a crowded news conference in Mexico City.

The artist, 31, said he did not intend to release his latest record "Intensive Care" in the United States or do any promotion for it there.
Williams also said "Intensive Care" had changed his life perspective. He explained that for the first time he took part in the full musical composing process, not just writing the lyrics and the melody to songs.
"I do have songwriting ability," he said. "Before I only imagined it. ... That means the world to me."
Williams was set to perform Saturday night in the Zocalo, Mexico City's central plaza, during the Oye! musical awards ceremony.'

'AMSTERDAM - Robbie Williams geeft twee extra concerten in Nederland.

Concertorganiser Mojo announced two more concerts after talking with the management, on 24 and 25th june. These cards were also sold out on saturdaymorning at 11:30. 'I don't know if this is the absolute record, the cards for U2 were also sold out within 1,5 hour, but that was about three concerts in the Arena.'
Singer Robbie Williams recently was in the Netherlands for an intimate concert at Paradiso in Amsterdam for just a thousand happy souls. He did that as a pre-taste for his big concert in Berlin, where he announced his new album Intensive Care. That record is standing at the moment at the top of the hitlists. Also its hit Tripping has been standing on number one. The brittish singer last gave in 2003 a big concert in the Netherlands. He was also standing in the Arena then.

Reflections..the day before

Friday 18th November.. the day before tickets for the next Robbie Tour will go on general sale.
Webmaster Alexandra was not able to re-register at the Inner Sanctum (they only accept creditcards nowadays) and so, tomorrow morning will be an opportunity to get some tickets. The lady at the ticket office was causing some panic after informing this afternoon 'some may already lay in front of the door this evening!!!'. At the webcam you can follow all night if there's already a line of die-hard veteran ticket buyers that will form, including sleeping bags and survival packages. The ticket office is the brown door at the left.
At some point, it seemed the webcam was positioned behind a window, for a reflection could be seen...is it...Sinterklaas (dutch Santaclaus)..or???
See for yourself!!!

Osbourne: 'Williams is UK's only hope'

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com/

'BLACK SABBATH frontman OZZY OSBOURNE is convinced the British music industry's only hope of longevity lies with pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS.
The PARANOID hitmaker, who was honoured in the second annual UK Music Hall Of Fame earlier this week (16NOV05), is worried about the state of the British music scene, especially since the rise of the internet.
But the 56-year-old hellraiser lavished praise on Williams - who shot to solo fame after leaving boyband TAKE THAT in 1995.
Osbourne says, "Downloading has ruined things. Who are going to be the legends of the future? Robbie Williams is the only good one left.
"I don't think there is enough melody in songs now. I like hip-hop and rap, but where's the melody?"

Robbie Williams obsessed with X Factor

Quoted from: http://www.rte.ie/

'16 November 2005

Pop singer Robbie Williams is reportedly so obsessed with 'X Factor' that the producers have to send tapes of the show to him.
'X Factor' presenter Kate Thornton reportedly told Heat magazine: "Rob is as obsessed with the show as the rest of the country."
She also said that tapes of each show are now sent to the singer, who is currently based in LA. "I think Robbie thinks that Shayne has a good chance of winning," Thornton said in the interview.
Seven contestants now remain to battle it out in 'X Factor' over the coming weeks.'

Self-destructive Robbie Williams?

Quoted from: http://people.monstersandcritics.com/

'Nov 16, 2005, 13:28 GMT

Robbie Williams is so troubled he could self-destruct at any moment, his former manager has claimed. Take That boss Nigel Martin is scared the pop heartthrob - who has battled drug and alcohol addiction - will end up dead if can't overcome his demons.
He said: 'He's so bitter and it's hard to know what his problem is, but he's always had a self-destruct button.
'Despite all the nasty things he's said about me, I still worry about Rob. I'm scared that one day I'm going to wake up and be told that he's dead, like Paula Yates.'
Martin also revealed the singer was frequently in a bad state towards the end of his time with the band.
He claimed: 'We were supposed to be doing the MTV Awards in Germany but Robbie was unwell.
'He'd been in bed with an international model the night before - I can't say who - and he was shaking. A complete state. I called a doctor and told Robbie to be honest about what he'd taken so we'd get him the right shot. 'He was a real mess.'
Martin was speaking at a preview of ITV 1 documentary, 'Take That... For The Record', which will air on British TV tonight (16.11.05).

Williams hails Take That

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com/

'British pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS has hailed his former group TAKE THAT as the best boyband ever - insisting their live shows were on a par with MADONNA's.
The TRIPPING hitmaker, who launched his solo career after leaving the band in 1995, has branded subsequent all-male groups "lazy" and claims none of them have come close to matching the energetic stage performances of the NEVER FORGET stars.
He says, "I don't think there's been a boyband as good as us for entertainment and for songs ever since - and you would be hard pressed to find one before too.
"I'm not talking about THE BEATLES - they're not a boy band - I'm talking about your archetypal 4/5 lads on stage singing and dancing.
"NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK were great and N*SYNC weren't too bad, but for a live show? Our shows were as good as a Madonna show I think.
"Boy bands are f**gging lazy these days. Ballad, stand, ballad, stand, when I see it, it annoys me because I know how hard we worked.
"We were, and are, the best boy band that's ever been."

Barlow: I couldn't fight Williams

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com/

'GARY BARLOW refused to become embroiled in a war of words with his former TAKE THAT bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS, because he knew he couldn't compete with the solo star.
After Williams quit the chart-topping British boyband in 1995, he publicly attacked Barlow for the way he was treated when he was a member of the group.
But, as Williams solo career went stratospheric, Barlow decided not to retaliate - despite his initial instinct - because his popularity was nothing compared to that enjoyed by Williams.
He says, "When he started the war of words at first I wanted to retaliate. But I never called. My deal was I have had the same mobile number for 15 years - if he wanted to get in touch he could have done.
"His career has got so big I'd never want to be him. Especially when he's at Knebworth. I could never do that, I could never compete so I just kept my mouth shut."

Robbie Williams misses Take That reunion

Quoted from: http://news.softpedia.com/

'Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald have agreed to reunite in Notting Hill, West London, for a preview screening of a documentary about the group. The documentary will be screened on ITV1 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, according to a source quoted by Sunday Mirror, "Robbie announced he wasn't coming. The rest of the band were gutted but felt the show had to go on". Robbie Williams has recently confessed that the band saved him from drugs. Apparently, the Take That members kept him clean, though they still enjoyed smoking cannabis." Before Take That I'd done acid, speed and smoked a lot of weed so I was sort of heading into that direction anyway", Williams told an ITV documentary."In all seriousness I would have been a dealer or a burglar and that's the truth because I would not have had the money to fund my addiction. (…) I'd have probably been in jail now", the singer added." But for the other lads it wasn't really part of their life, other than we used to like to smoke weed and then giggle", Robbie said. '

Review Intensive Care: entertainment.iafrica.com

Quoted from: http://entertainment.iafrica.com

'Tom Gray
Wed, 09 Nov 2005

Robbie Williams is a man who knows how to sell records. Lots of them. A touch over six million since the turn of the century in fact.
So it's no surprise that he launches into this, his seventh studio album with a self assured "Here I stand, victorious!"
It's no surprise too, that Robbie treads the same path that has served him so well since he famously left Take That in 1995, with a blend of self-assured pop-rock driven by a golden voice that, it seems, is getting better with age.
It's been three years since his last studio release, during which time Robbie parted ways with songwriter Guy Chambers, and speculation was rife that Robbie would be but half the singer without him. Truth be told, it doesn't seem to have made much difference at all. In fact 'Intensive Care' seems to pick up where 2002's 'Escapology' left off.
Skip past the disappointing 'Tripping' (why on earth was this selected as the first single?) and you'll find a crop of belt-it-out-in-the-shower ballads that are as good as any of his earlier work.
Expect the soon-to-be released 'Advertising Space' to dominate the charts and eclipse 'Angels' as concert favourite, despite a somewhat plodding chorus.
There's a hint of Americana here too, with country-edged guitar riffs vying with sweeping gospel choirs on the confessional 'Make Me Pure', and a nod to good old southern soul on 'Spread Your Wings'.
It's not all ballads though, and the catchy pop-rock guitar riffs of 'Gay Friend' herald a second half thick with driving riffs, jangly piano and pseudo-eighties guitar effects, crowned by the simply superb 'Place to Crash' — pure Rolling Stones without the wrinkles. Intensive care? This sounds more like rude health.
In short, 'Intensive Care' is a polished offering from a consummate pop star. It may not win Robbie many new fans but, as the old saying goes, if it ain't broke then don't fix it. And while Robbie Williams may claim to be many things, broke he most certainly isn't. '

Robbie Williams goes down on fans

Quoted from: http://www.inthenews.co.uk/

'Thursday, 10 Nov 2005 14:30

The special, pay-only section of Robbie Williams's website was forced into meltdown after a huge volume of Robbie fanatics stormed on to try and buy advance tickets for his world tour. Thousands of fans who had paid £25 to join the Inner Sanctum section of his site were left seething after they couldn't access the page where they could buy tickets from – simply because there too many of them. The massive influx of hits rocketed Robbie's official site to the top of the music and bands chart of websites, according to Hitwise. The web traffic monitoring firm said traffic to the site increased by 27 per cent on the day the tickets went on sale, and marked a 1,000 per cent increase on its flow since its launch. Robbie Williams's spokesman quelled fears among paying fans however, saying the site is now fully operational again. He said: "The system did get overloaded and crashed, but the problem's been fixed and there are still tickets on sale." This means paid-up members of the Inner Sanctum, where they can also see pictures of Robbie's penis, can still get in on the advance tickets before they go on general sale on Saturday November 19th. He plays the UK in September 2006. '

Robbie Williams announces world tour

Quoted from: http://www.timesonline.co.uk

'By Louisa McLennan

Robbie Williams confirmed the dates of his world tour today, as managers warned fans to avoid rogue ticket sellers.
The singer, whose new album Intensive Care is at no 1 in the charts, will be performing in the UK in September 2006.
However, chances to see him in this country are limited, as just four gigs are scheduled, two at Wembley Stadium (which is due to open next spring) one in Leeds and one at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The world schedule includes six appearances in Germany, as well as shows in South Africa, Ireland, Belgium, Frace, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Hungary, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
No dates are scheduled in America, where Intensive Care is only released in a digital format.
Earlier this week, several online agencies advertised tickets for the tour, listing 'provisional' dates in Manchester and Cardiff in July, where the singer in fact has no plans to perform.
''The public should watch out for unauthorised tickets and ticket agencies claiming to have tickets for these dates. If in doubt, contact the local promoter,' said Ian Huffman, the tour's official agent.
Tickets for the gigs go on sale on November 19, but subscribers to Robbie Williams' website (membership of which costs £25) can buy them online from today.
The strategy of selling advance tickets to website members was piloted when U2 launched their tour earlier this year. Although meant to give an advantage to committed supporters, the technique was criticised after several touts subscribed to the Irish band's website, then sold their tickets online for a profit.
Intensive Care sold 383,000 copies in its first week, making it this year's second fastest-selling album, after Coldplay’s X&Y.'

Williams: 'Take That saved my life'

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com/

'Pop superstar ROBBIE WILLIAMS would have ended up dead or in jail if he hadn't joined boyband TAKE THAT when he was 16.
The 31-year-old singer had tried hard drugs before joining the band, and struggled with addiction after they split - but during his five month run in the group, the other members helped him stay clean.
He says, "Perhaps Take That saved my life.
"I'd have had a problem with drugs anyway. I was heading that way.
"In all seriousness I would have been a dealer or a burglar and that's the truth because I would not have had the money to fund my addiction and I'd have probably been in jail now.
"Before Take That I'd done acid, speed and smoked a lot of weed so I was sort of heading into that direction anyway.

Floppy Robbie Williams releases a new song

Quoted from: http://news.softpedia.com/

'Robbie Williams has recently confessed he needs to brush up on his bedroom technique - despite lovers selling their stories praising his sex skills." All those newspaper stories about me sleeping with people who say that I was amazing and went for three hours, well, they aren't true', the British heartthrob is quoted by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying. "These people only do that so I won't sue them - and it works. I won't sue if I get a good write up. It's as simple as that. (...) The truth is I'm not very good at it but I'm willing to learn", the 31-year-old singer added. Robbie has recently admitted to losing interest in women once he's slept with them, but still intends to settle down." This girl I went out with this week is really lovely. Like, really, really f***ing lovely. But it must be a scientific fact that the penis rules the brain. Which is such a cruel trick. As much as we can laugh about it and dismiss it, whatever the thing was that had attracted me to her, it is now a scientific fact that I'm not interested. I had got what I wanted', he declared. Robbie Williams is set to release the ballad 'Advertising Space' as a follow-up to the album's first single 'Trippin' '. The best British selling artist used a reference to the Quentin Tarantino-written flick 'True Romance' and described his song: 'The one where, like Christian Slater in the film, I like to believe I have direct access to Elvis Presley every now and again'. 'Advertising Space' was co-written with Stephen Duffy (Barenaked Ladies) and has been heralded by Williams himself as his 'Candle In The Wind'. The pop singer has recently picked up the award for Best Male Artist at the MTV Europe Video Music Awards.

You have to wonder what will happen to Robbie's career if he ever falls in love - with anyone other than himself. Will the fans who fantasised about rescuing him from his achy-breaky angst keep buying his albums? There's something endearing about this bed-hopping bandit who can't commit because he doesn't seem to know how. Intensive Care continues to revel in his screwiness in all senses of the word, with Williams complaining he's as sexed and flummoxed as ever and that even he can't explain his own rotten behaviour. A convincing argument. This time he's without long-time co-writer Guy Chambers. If his absence proves anything it's that Robbie still sounds like Robbie. In Chambers' place is Stephen Duffy, singer from 80s folk-rock band Lilac Time, a successful collaboration most apparent on the Smiths-influenced The Trouble With Me and Your Gay Friend. Perhaps he's to blame for putting a virtual orchestra behind most tracks, and for the overblown 70s rock arrangements on A Place to Crash. Even a big star like Robbie can get squashed by all the extras, y'know. Elsewhere there are few tweaks to the Robbie formula. Make Me Pure is this album's Better Man, a classic, lighter-waving confessional over twanging country guitars and gospel singers - the track they'll play if he ever kicks the bucket. And we might as well reserve a No 1 spot for the album's big ballad moment, Advertising Space, with its inventive Marlon Brando narrative. If Robbie had taken as many chances musically as he did with like the fantastic first single, Tripping - a cosmic combo of falsetto vocal, ska guitar and Bollywood strings - Intensive Care wouldn't slip into generic, everyman pop-rock so often. But fans will be stoked that even though the album peters out to dramatic ambient synths, our beloved entertainer hasn't really grown up, as the opening line attests: "Here I stand, victorious, the only man who made you come." Let's hope he falls in love soon. '

Quoted from: http://www.hellomagazine.com

'4 NOVEMBER 2005

Madonna saw off pretenders to her throne with a virtuoso live performance in Lisbon last night. The queen of pop thrilled fans by emerging from a giant disco ball to sing Hung Up at the MTV Europe awards.

After her dramatic entrance, the Material Girl stripped down to a purple leotard and cavorted with dancers, proving she's well back on form after her August riding accident. "It was amazing to be able to get up and dance. You don't beat singing live," said the American after opening the ceremony. "Waiting to see the audience, my heart was just pumping out of my chest."
For the Brits there was also ample reason to celebrate. Coldplay were named top UK and Ireland act, while their single Speed Of Sound triumphed in the category for best song. Completing the picture of British success, Robbie Williams, Gorillaz and James Blunt also picked up a handful of gongs between them.

Having left Ali G at home, Sacha Baron Cohen compered the show as his Kazakhstani alter ego Borat, guaranteeing a night of outrageous gags. The comic welcomed the audience to the "Eurovision Song Contest." Then, in a cheeky reference to Madonna's act, he praised MTV for hiring "a genuine transvestite."

But the megastar showed no signs of annoyance when she returned to the stage to present pal Bob Geldof with a Free Your Mind humanitarian award. "You drive me crazy, but tonight you are everyone's hero," Madonna told the Live 8 organiser after hugging him warmly.'

Duffy hails Williams as a genius

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'ROBBIE WILLIAMS is a misunderstood creative genius, according to his songwriting partner STEPHEN 'TIN TIN' DUFFY.
Duffy, a former member of DURAN DURAN, co-wrote Williams' new album INTENSIVE CARE - but insists the ideas and inspiration all came from the TRIPPING hitmaker.
He says, "Robbie quotes GANDHI on Tripping and he quotes ST AUGUSTUS on MAKE ME PURE which I didn't realise until he told me afterwards.
"He is very intelligent guy and sometimes people don't give him full credit.
"He leads in everything. He is incredibly talented lyrically and melodically.
"The amazing thing about working with him was that he'd pick up the bass never having really played it before.
"The first time he picked up the bass he wrote Tripping. He basically sits down and comes up with hooks."

Robbie's worrysome stagedive (videoclip)

Quoted from: www.robbiewilliams.nu

'"He threw himself into the audience, like a real stagedive, but he went straight down! He drowned among the screaming girls until five security guards got him out and up on the stage. They tried to throw him up, but didn't make it first time, it looked very painful. And it was weird seeing him on the other side of the fence... "

Robbie Williams takes care of European charts

Quoted from: http://music.monstersandcritics.com/

'Robbie Williams goes straight to the top of European Top 100 Albums with 'Intensive Care' (Chrysalis), amassing an impressive collection of first-week No. 1 rankings. The album outsells all rivals in the United Kingdom (with a huge opening sale of 373,000 copies), Germany, Ireland, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Austria and Denmark.
Mike Allen, senior vice president of international marketing, EMI Music U.K. and Ireland, says that total initial shipments of 'Care' in continental Europe, not including the United Kingdom, were 1.5 million units. The album also debuts at No. 2 in France, Spain, Portugal and Norway.
In 2005, EMI artists have spent 26 out of 46 possible weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard European Top 100 Albums chart, with Williams (with two different albums), Gorillaz, Coldplay, the Rolling Stones, Moby and Depeche Mode.
'To see so many EMI U.K. artists having success on an international level this year is thanks to the creativity of our artists, the focus of our sister companies worldwide and the skills of our international marketing department,' says Tony Wadsworth, chairman and CEO of EMI Music U.K.
The second-highest debut on the pan-European album chart comes from Destiny's Child, whose farewell, retrospective set 'No. 1s' (Columbia) bows at No. 9. Its best individual showing is at No. 6 in the United Kingdom, where it sells an initial 31,000.
New at No. 10 overall is 'Unausgesprochen' (105 Music) by Annett Louisan, following a No. 3 start in Germany. It`s the German singer`s follow-up to her debut album 'Boheme'; she embarks on a tour of Germany in the first week of 2006.
Supertramp, the erstwhile British album rock act whose heyday came around the turn of the 1980s with the global hit 'Breakfast In America,' returns to the pan-European listing with a new compilation. 'Retrospectacle' (A&M) opens at No. 9 in the United Kingdom on sales of 26,000, after a TV advertising campaign there. It comes in at No. 15 on the European albums chart.
Stevie Wonder's 'A Time 2 Love' (Motown) makes a healthy second-week move of 40 to 21 on Top 100 Albums, as the soul legend confirms a rare and intimate promotional concert in London. He will play the special show for national public AC station BBC Radio 2 Nov.9 at Abbey Road Studios. The audience will be formed of contest winners and media.
Williams' album chart victory compensates for his demotion from No. 1 on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles with 'Tripping.' That's nudged down to No. 3 as Sugababes' 'Push The Button' (Universal Island) moves 2-1. The track is still No. 1 in Austria and makes gains around the top of several other European charts, including 7 to 2 in Norway, 3 to 2 in Germany, 9 to 3 in Denmark and 7 to 3 in Switzerland.
Meanwhile the former Eurochart-topper 'Don't Cha' (A&M/Interscope) by Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes is back on the rise, improving from 3 to 2 after climbs of 6 to 5 in Germany and 11 to 7 in Italy.
Irish boy band Westlife scores its 13th U.K. No. 1 out of 18 releases with 'You Raise Me Up' (S/Sony BMG), prompting a No. 6 debut on the Eurochart. Also opening at No. 1 in Ireland, it's the debut single from the group's new album 'Face To Face,' which was released on Monday (Oct. 31) and is heading for the top of the British chart this Sunday, according to mid-week sales data from the Official U.K. Charts Company.
Kate Bush opens on the Eurochart at No. 12 with 'King of the Mountain' (EMI), the first single from her much-heralded 'Aerial' album, which arrives in stores next Monday, almost exactly 12 years after her last set 'The Red Shoes.' Initial U.K. sales for the single are 21,000, helping 'Mountain' to become her first British top ten single since 'Running Up That Hill' in 1986.

Robbie Williams Sleazes On Heidi Range

Quoted from: http://www.entertainmentwise.com/

' After Sugababes beat him to Number 1...

By: Davina Earl on 03/11/2005

Since beating him to the number one spot in the charts, Robbie has sent the Sugababes' stunner flowers and a string of cheeky text messages.
Heidi has warbled on to mates that the bouquet that Robbie sent was 'massive' and 'really beautiful,' and that the singer himself is 'sweet' and a 'hunk.'
A pal of Heidi's told the Sun: 'Heidi was so flattered by the flowers and calls – and what girl wouldn’t be?'
But she continued of Dave Berry, Heidi's presenter fiancée: 'I don't think Dave has anything to worry about.'
And neither do we, Robbie's got a face like an arse and a track-record to match.
He pulled a similar stunt on Corr's babe Andrea, sending her roses with a note saying 'What can I do to make you love me?' Oo what a wit.
Andrea replied, in similar style, with 'Entertain me', which Robbie certainly did – as they ended up dating for several months…'
