Blackpool's A-list show is back, as Legends returns for its eighth season at Central Pier with a longer run than last year.
The popular tribute show, featuring the likes of Shirley Bassey, Robbie Williams and Elvis, open two weeks earlier this year, on June 20, and runs until October 29, excluding Mondays and Fridays, in the Legends show bar.
Newcomers to the show this year are John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie. Together with Ronan Keating, Freddie Mercury, Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond they make up the full Legends line-up. Each show features four artistes, with a change of show every Tuesday night.
A Legends spokesman said: "This really is the must see show in Blackpool.
"Due to success of the show last year, performances start two weeks early this year, so make sure you book in advance.
"Audiences will be enthralled by the performances and can also enjoy drinks throughout the show from the Legends show bar.
"The casual table style theatre hosts its own box office and entrance at the very front of Central Pier, which makes buying your ticket and access to the theatre easy!"
She added that the show is "ideal for families, couples and groups, on a holiday treat, a special occasion or a work's night out".
Tickets cost £12.95 for adults, £10.95 for seniors and £5.95 for children. Family tickets are £32 for two adults and two children, and tickets for groups of more than ten people are £10.95 per person. Call 292029 for details.

ROBBIE Williams offered a glimmer of World Cup glory last night after his celebrity England team scored a 2-1 victory over a Rest of the Worldside in the Soccer Aid charity match.
Goals from former Spurs star Les Ferdinand and Robbie's TV presenter pal Jonathan Wilkes put England 2-0 up at half time and, despite a converted penalty by Argentine legend Diego Maradona in the second half, the home side held on. The Rest of the World struggled, with Scots chef Gordon Ramsay going eyeball-to-eyeball with Italian referee Pierluigi Collina in one incident.
When the game deteriorated to Sunday League standard, the record 71,962 Old Trafford crowd livened things up with a Mexican wave.
Afterwards, ex-Take That star Williams led his team - who included TV presenters Jamie Theakston and Angus Deayton and singer David Gray alongside former professional footballers - on a victory lap of the pitch and applauded when Wilkes was named Man of the Match.
Fan Paul Cherry, 30, from Catford, South-East London, said: "Hopefully it will be this easy in Germany this summer."

England have beaten the Rest of the World team 2-1 in the Soccer Aid charity match at Old Trafford.
Stars of the football and entertainment world lined up for the eagerly anticipated clash between an England side captained by Robbie against a Rest of the World side led by chef Gordon Ramsay.
A sell-out crowd of 75,000 fans was at Old Trafford to watch the match, with millions expected to tune in to watch the game live on ITV1.
The match was held in aid of children's charity Unicef.
Ferdinand opened the scoring at Old Trafford with a typical diving header from Gascoigne's pinpoint cross in the 14th minute.
Actor and co-organiser Jonathan Wilkes' superb solo effort put England 2-0 up after 20 minutes before Diego Maradona converted a second-half penalty - awarded for a handball by singer David Gray - for the Rest of the World side. Jonathan Wilkes was named man of the match.
The England team, captained by Williams and managed by former England coach Terry Venables, had former England internationals Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes, Tony Adams, David Seaman, and Bryan Robson alongside TV stars Jamie Theakston and Angus Deayton.
Ramsay's team included former Argentina international Diego Maradona, former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola and Tony Blair's former spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
The Rest of the World team was managed by former Dutch international and ex-Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit.'

Robbie eyes England win

'Stars of pop and TV will join legends of international football on Saturday for the eagerly anticipated Soccer Aid charity match.

Football mad pop star Robbie Williams will captain an England celebrity XI against a Rest of the World side led by chef Gordon Ramsay and featuring former Argentina international Diego Maradona at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground.

A record-breaking sell-out crowd of 75,000 fans will watch Saturday night's match, with millions expected to tune in for live television coverage of the game, held in aid of children's charity UNICEF.

The England team, captained by Williams and managed by former England coach Terry Venables, will feature former England internationals Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes, Tony Adams, David Seaman, and Bryan Robson alongside TV stars Jamie Theakston and Angus Deayton.

After battling a thigh injury this week, Ramsay is expected to lead the Rest of the World team including Maradona, former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola and ex-spin doctor Alastair Campbell.

His team will be managed by former Dutch international and ex-Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit.

Earlier this week members of the two squads met Prime Minister Tony Blair in Downing Street.

Tickets for the match, which will be broadcast live on ITV1 at 7.15pm, have sold out, despite the increased capacity afforded by mixing fans.'

Dreams come true for SoccerAid mascots

Quoted from: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/

DREAMS will come true for two lucky young Manchester Evening News readers tonight as they lead the teams out for the Soccer Aid spectacular at Old Trafford.
Soccer-mad Cameron Pugh, nine, and star-struck Lakeisha Bradbury, eight, won the chance to be mascots for the England team, captained by singer Robbie Williams, and the Rest of the World, led by chef Gordon Ramsay, in an M.E.N. competition three weeks ago.
Lakeisha, from Knutsford, will hold Robbie's hand in leading out the home team, featuring legends Paul Gascoigne and John Barnes, in front of the 70,000 capacity crowd.

Celebrities
She said: "I'm really, really excited, and I don't think I'll be scared at all.
"I'm more looking forward to meeting celebrities than the football.
"My mum and even my grandma say they're really jealous that I'll get to meet Robbie, but I'd like to see TV presenter Ben Shepherd, too."
United fan Cameron, from Denton, will join TV star Ramsay at the head of the Rest of the World side, featuring legends Diego Maradona, Gianfranco Zola and ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

'Excited'
Mum Christine said Cameron had been soccer-mad since he could walk.
The youngster said: "I really didn't mind what team I got, but mum really wanted me to hold Robbie Williams' hand.
"I'm just excited to meet such great players, and all my friends have said how much they wish they could do it."
The sell-out match is the brainchild of UNICEF ambassador Robbie, with all proceeds going to the international children's charity.
Some of the country's most recognisable faces were joining the footballing legends.
Coronation Street's Bradley Walsh and Shameless's Dean Lennox Kelly are turning out for England.
The Rest of the World will feature ex-racing driver Eddie Irvine and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden.

Injury
Bookmakers William Hill have made England the slight favourites at 5-4, with the Rest of the World at 13-10.
The Rest of the World, who suffered a 7-0 drubbing against Scotland All Stars on Tuesday, have been plagued with injury, with defender Ramsay and striker McFadden notable casualties.
But a team insider said both are expected to play at least some of tonight's match.
"The Rest of the World were looking pretty distraught earlier this week after their loss, but Maradona has now flown in, so who knows what could happen," he said.
* Live coverage of the pre-match preparations begins at 6.30pm on ITV1, with kick off at 7.15pm.'

WE'VE just been given another glimpse into the mindset of Robbie Williams - and it's not pleasant viewing.
In a rant at those who claim he is afraid to commit, 32-year-old Robbie has said he doesn't need the love of a good woman - because he has sleeping pills and his computer for company!
Not only that, but the egomaniacal former Take That star admits regularly typing his name into internet search engine Google to find out what people are saying about him, and has started referring to himself in the third person.
"Look we could all psychoanalyse Robbie Williams," he raved recently. "I'm not desperate to be in a relationship. It's another piece of the jigsaw, that's all.
"I'm alone. I'm not lonely. I'm OK. I've got the computer and the sleeping pills. Things are fine.
"I know people will say, 'Check out the ego on Robbie Williams going online to see what people say about him.' But it's never anything nice!"
Poor lad. At least he can console himself with the release of his next single, a double A side of Ghosts and A Place To Crash, in August. Then in September his tour kicks of f in Glasgow.
We wonder if his computer will be the only thing given backstage access...'

Pet Shop joy for Robbie

'NEIL TENNANT has been dropping hints on what to expect when we hear the tracks the PET SHOP BOYS have recorded for ROBBIE WILLIAMS' new dance album.
He said: 'We've done two songs with Robbie. It sounds really good. We haven't really written with anyone before.'
Neil described the album as 'electronic dance.'
I told you last month how Robbie was inspired to try a new dance style by KYLIE MINOGUE.
It will be out in August.'

Lulu tries to reunite Robbie with Take That

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'Sixties singer LULU is convinced she can convince ROBBIE WILLIAMS to reunite with his former band TAKE THAT. The 90s boyband have had to embark on a reunion tour without the chart-topper, who refuses to join GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE and HOWARD DONALD. But Lulu, who collaborated with the band on hit RELIGHT MY FIRE and is joining them on the stadium leg of the tour, thinks she has the negotiating skills to bring Williams onboard. She says, "I've seen the show and they don't need Robbie but it would be terrific to have him there. I'm going to be mediator because I think I can convince him."

Take that, critics!

Quoted from: http://www.thecouriermail.news.com.au

'May 25, 2006

Robbie Williams is coming to town and if you don't like it - best keep quiet, writes Cameron Adams
RUSSELL Crowe picks up a phone - and blasts them. Courtney Love poops in a box and sticks it in the post.
Robbie Williams has his own way of dealing with journalists who slate him - luring them into a trap for face to face combat.
Williams coaxed a selection of his harshest critics (he voraciously reads his own press and reviews) into an ambush in London last year, disguised as a pre-release listening session for his Intensive Care album.
There was a surprise guest in the room: Robbie Williams.
He wasn't there to be interviewed. He was asking the questions. And he'd done his homework. Williams had printed out the most poisonous reviews of his music written by the very journalists in the room, quoted their venom back at them and then asked them to defend themselves.
One journalist later used the anecdote in an article pointing out how vain and self-deluded Williams was to "awkwardly" fling their words back at them.
"It wasn't awkward to me, it was fantastic," Williams says, still beaming with glee at the memory. "Since then the way they've justified the meeting was to talk about it being embarrassing for me. But they shat themselves. They well and truly sat there with their eyes facing the floor twiddling their thumbs nervously. As embarrassing as they say it was for me and how I had a lack of self-awareness and what a bad idea it was, I f---ing loved to watch them squirm, it was great.
"The thing is, when I was in that room with them, not one of them stood up for what they said. Every single one backed down, said I was right, and agreed with me. Which of course they didn't write about later."
Williams has no regrets about the repercussions of naming and shaming music journalists; indeed he is one of a handful of artists who are virtually critic proof.
"The thing is, if you're a bloke and someone said something bad about you at the pub or your workplace you'd go and find them and talk to them about it," Williams says. "I'd never had the chance to put a face to a name with these journalists.
"The opportunity arose that five of these names would be in the same room to listen to my album. I took that opportunity to have a word to them."
Has he ever thought of the more extreme Russell or Courtney options?
"I've thought of that. That's for the future."
While Robbie Williams is selective about interviews these days because, well, he can be, he gives good quotes. Excellent quotes, in fact. And he likes a chat, staying on this phone call for over an hour, shooing off managers and, unlike many pop stars, never once declaring anything off limits.
"I'm probably one of the only artists who prefers promo to touring," Williams says. "I find it very entertaining. It's interesting to know what I think, because I never tell myself. It's interesting for me anyway."
Surely interview days where you talk about yourself endlessly must be like therapy?
"Probably, but I'm kind of used to therapy." Williams' therapy days, fuelled by spending most of his 20s taking whatever he could swallow or snort, are well documented. As are his stints in rehab.
However, his self-destructive days seem over. These days he lets other people slag off Robbie Williams.
"I'm not as negative these days," he says. "I used to stand on stage at the beginning of my solo career and think 'What have you (expletives) come to see this (expletive) for?'. And I was the (expletive). Even though I was in Take That and I'm Robbie Williams I had my own sixth form indie rules in my head, I didn't live up to them. Now I've got rid of those rules and embraced, I was going to say the lower echelons of popular culture, but I've embraced who I am and what I'm capable of and what I'm not. I can see a song for it being a song now, instead of an affront to somebody's sensibilities. Being Robbie Williams that's very handy."
However Williams admits he isn't beyond Googling his own name.
"I know people will think 'Check out the ego on Robbie Williams, going online to see what people said about him'. But it's never anything nice. Google my name and 90 per cent of what's written is untrue, the rest is just nasty. So when I'm at the computer it's not me going 'Look at me! My public adore me!' I'm on there going 'Bastards! Bastards! Bastards!' "
Williams set himself a test when he released Tripping, the lead single from Intensive Care. It was the first single where he'd written the bulk of the music himself, not just the lyrics.
However, most reviewers hailed the influence his new songwriting partner Stephen Duffy had on him.
"It's f---ing great because it doesn't particularly sound like any other Robbie Williams song. It would be even greater if people said 'Robbie wrote the bulk of this song' - it'd mean more to me. But people think 'Oh Stephen Duffy's doing it now Guy Chambers has left'. They think I'm some kind of puppet, which unless they get in the studio with me and see what I do I guess I'd think the same of Robbie Williams.
"It's nearly impossible for humans, I'm the same, to enjoy somebody else's success," Williams continues. "There's always got to be a problem or a catch. 'Well, he's gay isn't he', 'he's just a puppet'. People always say to me 'Do they let you go on holiday a lot? Do they choose your producer for you?' I just wonder who 'they' are. I can't blame people for doing it, I'm the same kind of person. I catch myself doing it, but when there's someone enjoying success, an actor or a musician, I always look for the catch myself. Their success exposes my inadequacies."
Those famous inadequacies kicked into overdrive when Williams was asked to play Live 8 in Hyde Park last July.
He hadn't played live since his Australian tour of 2003.
"I was very scared all the other bands who were on were either on tour or in the middle of working. I wasn't. Also there were a lot of people there who might not be Robbie Williams fans. As much as people love me there's a tremendous amount of people who really f---ing hate me. This was all going through my mind."
He admits he was desperately nervous backstage, and asked friend David Beckham to introduce him as a safety net.
"When I stepped on stage the audience did the rest. It was a magic moment for me and for my career, it was incredible."
He also got to hang with Madonna backstage.
"She was in the caravan next to me. I thought 'There's Madonna, I wonder how she is?' I didn't think 'F--! There's Madonna'. I don't think that about pop stars any more. I only think that about footballers. I get starstruck with footballers. I went and said hello to Madonna. She was lovely. It was a really nice moment in pop."
The next Williams album may even out-pop Madonna. He's moving in a new territory – dance. Williams is working with dance producers William Orbit, Mark Ronson and Pet Shop Boys on a "secret" dance album due as early as September.
"We've done two songs with Robbie," Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant says.
One is a new song, one is an "obscure" cover.
"It sounds like Robbie Williams with the Pet Shop Boys behind him," Tennant reveals. "It sounds really good. We haven't really written with anyone before. I've not heard anything else on the album, but he told us it's an 'electronic/dance' album."
However Williams is quick to note he won't alienate fans.
"Fortunately for me and my record company I have populist tastes. I want to make records with big choruses. I want to make anthems. I'm obviously not shy to want to be in the pop charts. I find it fascinating when bands claim to not make music for the pop charts, to not make music for people to buy. That's great, just f---ing play it to yourself you silly (expletive).
"But I also want to branch out and do something else, see if I enjoy that. The Pet Shop Boys get to write with Liza Minelli, Dusty Springfield, Kylie Minogue, as it stands I've done eight Robbie Williams albums."
With the pop charts comes fame. Paparazzi photographers are an abnormally normal part of the life of Robbie Williams.
In his biography Feel, Williams revealed what most people suspected, he and former girlfriend Rachel Hunter did a deal with paparazzi for staged "candid" photos of them together.
"I don't think it was a mistake, necessarily," Williams says. "It was intended to be a bit of fun to mix everyone up, it just backfired. The upshot was the money received from (selling) those pictures I didn't touch. A lot went to charity, and four of my friends got new Jaguars. As embarrassing as the episode was, there was no paparazzi bothering us for two months after it. It worked out well for me."
He freely admits he now lives in LA to remain anonymous and has long given up trying to break into the US market.
The night before we speak a British tabloid has printed a picture of Williams' new London flat, and the address. And a photo of his mum's flat, which is on the ground floor.
"There's someone in jail for sending me letter bombs," Williams says. "There's quite a few mad people out there and a few of them want to kill me. It's just not worth it being in London."
The one thing missing in his charmed life is love. He's constantly linked with women, and was recently rumoured to have had a secret affair with Naomi Campbell.
"She's so beautiful, it'd be great if it was true," Williams says. "I wouldn't mind admitting it. I've never slept with Naomi Campbell. I've never kissed her, as much as I would have liked it to happen."
Intensive Care is out now through EMI. Robbie Williams will play Suncorp Stadium on December 13. Tickets go on sale through Ticketek next Tuesday, June 6. There will be a limit of six tickets per customer.'

Rob-Tickler: O'Neill jibe funniest moment

Quoted from: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk

'O'Neill jibe at Williams is voted funniest World Cup TV moment
By Robert Mcaulay

A SPAT between Martin O'Neill and Robbie Williams has been voted the World Cup's funniest TV moment.
The ex-Celtic boss and the superstar singer famously clashed during a half-time chat at France '98 alongside Scotland star Alan Hansen.
O'Neill stunned millions of viewers when he told Williams he was surprised his career had survived after leaving boyband Take That.
And the TV audience watched in amazement as O'Neill ranted how Robbie had done really well for someone who couldn't play guitar, dance or write songs.
Now, in a poll of 20,000 voters, the rib-tickling clash has come top of the World Cup chart.
More than a fifth of those who took part in the BBC poll said the interview had left them in stitches.
Last night, a BBC spokesman said: "The unlikely double act of O'Neill and Williams attracted 22 per cent of the vote. The odd-couple pairing just edged out the 1998 England squad's efforts to get song titles into interviews."
During the interview, hosted by Des Lynam, O'Neill piped up that he thought Robbie was destined for failure.
As Lynam and Hansen cringed, he added: "I'm glad you've done well since leaving Take That, because I wondered how you'd get on without them - you know, considering you can't sing, write songs, or dance."
Bemused Robbie hit back: "Well, apart from that what have I done?"
John Aldridge's four-letter tirade at a linesman who wouldn't let him on as a Republic of Ireland substitute in 1994 came third in the vote.'

Maradona signs up for Soccer Aid show

Quoted from: http://www.rte.ie

'Soccer legend Diego Maradona has been confirmed as a late inclusion to Gordon Ramsey's team, which will take on Robbie Williams' team in the charity show 'Soccer Aid' at the weekend.
According to the show's official website, Maradona will fly over to England from Buenos Aires to play in the charity game at Old Trafford next Saturday.
It has also been announced that former England captain Bryan Robson will take to the pitch at the event.
Williams will captain the England team, which is being managed by Terry Venables, with television presenters Jonathan Wilkes and Ben Shephard, DJ Jamie Theakston, 'Coronation Street' star Bradley Walsh and snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan joining him.
Former England players David Seaman, Tony Adams, Paul Gascoigne and John Barnes have also been named as part of Williams' team.
Joining Ramsey on the Rest of the World team, managed by Rudd Gullitt, are Formula 1 racing driving Eddie Irvine, former rugby star David Campese, pop singer Brian McFadden, comedian Patrick Kielty and television presenter Craig Doyle.
Former football stars who have been named on the team include Gianfranco Zola, Marcel Desailly, David Ginola and Lothar Matthaus.
Speaking about Maradona's inclusion in the team, pop singer Brian McFadden said: "I will probably be running with Maradona, just looking at him, trying to kiss him or something."
Bookmakers William Hill are currently offering odds of 40/1 for Maradona to score a goal, which stands, with his hand.
The Rest of the World team captained by Gordon Ramsey are currently 11/10 favourites to win the match.
Proceeds from 'Soccer Aid' will go towards UNICEF. Williams, who is an ambassador for the charity, said: "When I was in South Africa last month, I saw how UNICEF is helping children."
"There are 15 million children orphaned by Aids in the world. Money raised by 'Soccer Aid' will help make life easier for children like the ones I met," he said. '

Robbie sees early Soccer Aid success

Robbie Williams's charity football team had a promising start to their training for Soccer Aid when they beat an England Legends team by a single goal.
The team was preparing for Saturday's charity game against Diego Maradona and a Rest of the World XI to be played in front of a sell-out crowd at Old Trafford.
The side, managed by former England coach Terry Venables and captained by Williams, won 1-0 against a team of former England internationals at Fulham's Craven Cottage.
The Legends team included former Newcastle striker Peter Beardsley, Southampton hero Matthew Le Tissier and ex-Arsenal winger Paul Merson among other England internationals.
But Williams's England side scored the game's single goal after 80 minutes when Shameless actor Dean Lennox-Kelly passed to former England international Jamie Redknapp who scored.Venables said of the goal: 'Dean made a great pass to set up Jamie Redknapp's goal. He did really well.'
Maradona's late inclusion in the Rest of the World side is likely to add spice to the fixture.
The former Argentina international scored a controversial 'Hand of God' goal against England in the 1986 World Cup.Tickets for the event, which will be broadcast live on ITV1 at 7pm, have sold out, despite the increased capacity afforded by mixing fans.
Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes, Tony Adams, David Seaman and Bryan Robson are expected to join the England side on Saturday.
The Rest of the World side will be captained by Gordon Ramsay and managed by former Dutch international and ex-Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit.
Former Downing Street spin doctor Alastair Campbell and motor racing driver Eddie Irvine will line up for Ramsay with retired Premiership footballers Marcel Desailly, David Ginola and Peter Schmeichel.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to UNICEF.'

Williams anxious about charity

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'Singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS admits he is anxious about helping others, because he doesn't want to be seen as a wealthy celebrity using charity work for his own means. The star recently visited orphans in South Africa in his role as an ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). As much as he loved the experience, he admits it made him uncomfortable. Williams says, "I'm an incredibly self-conscious person anyway, but it heightens where charity work is concerned. "The stigma that surrounds doing good is quite amazing and it's penetrated my psyche. "It constantly makes me question why I'm doing what I'm doing..."

Robbie rallies support for UNICEF

Soccer Aid Website

Quoted from: http://www.itv.com

'As Robbie prepares to put his best foot forward on the pitch, the superstar soccer fan speaks out about his passionate plight for the show's beneficiary.
With proceeds from Soccer Aid going towards UNICEF, England team captain Robbie Williams explains how the past six years as UK Ambassador for the global organisation have opened his eyes to the suffering of children worldwide. 'When I was in South Africa last month, I saw how UNICEF is helping children,' he says. 'I met four kids who live just outside Durban. They live alone because their Mum and Dad have both died of AIDS. 'They lost their Mum last year and were found by neighbours wandering around the neighbourhood in search of food.' Realising the power of football and its feverish fans, Robbie and close pal Jonny Wilkes put their heads together and came up with an idea to channel their passion for the pitch into generating the vital funds needed to support UNICEF's global work. 'Money raised by Soccer Aid will help make life easier for children like the ones I met," Robbie adds. 'UNICEF and its partners help these children by sending a child care worker to see them every day to help them with the every day things that parents do, like homework, cooking, washing, playing games and talking about their day. 'This means that this family can stay together in the place they know as home and grow up with the love and support every child should have. 'There are 15 million children orphaned by AIDS in the world. 'Their situation is devastating - but it is the reality of how AIDS is affecting children.'

Williams accuses UK press of bigotry

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'British singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS refused to take part in a charity soccer match against Germany - because the UK press revel in slamming the European country. The ANGELS hitmaker is captaining the England team at this month's (MAY06) Soccer Aid match to benefit the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), for which he is ambassador. But he has categorically refused to be a part of any match which might incite the traditional berating of Germany and parody their involvement in the World Wars. He says, "I couldn't play in a game England versus Germany, because the press in England can't control themselves when it comes to bigotry. And I happen to love Germany. "And I sell a lot of records there, being honest - all three of those things. And I wouldn't want to be part of anything that would darken their door." Williams will play the charity game in Manchester, England on 27 May (06) with a team comprised of celebrities representing the rest of the world, captained by chef GORDON RAMSAY.

Williams quits smoking

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'Pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS has quit smoking so he can get fit for a charity soccer match. The heart-throb has smoked 60 cigarettes a day since he was teenager, but is desperate to impress at the Soccer Aid match on Saturday when a team of English footballers and celebrities take on a Rest of the World team run by soccer star-turned chef GORDON RAMSAY. Williams' England team mate, actor BRADLEY WALSH, reveals, "He's taking this very, very seriously and will do anything to win. We are calling him 'no cigs Robbie'." The singer has previously refused to quit the habit for fear he would put on weight. Williams defends Geldof and Bono

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'ROBBIE WILLIAMS insists rockers-turned-activists SIR BOB GELDOF and BONO should be supported in their actions, even if their reasons are "self-serving". The English singer is disgusted by critics who mock the megastar Make Poverty History campaigners as they are making a huge difference, even if it does raise their own profile in the process. He says, "There's T-shirts saying 'Make Bono History' and 'Make Geldof History' and stuff - I think they are in the worst taste. "They are of this self-defeating attitude that we have in Britain. "I wish the country was full of self-serving people doing self-serving things for charity - Geldof and Bono are doing it, whatever their reasons and motivations."

Beckham bash bidder's 'auction fraude'

Quoted from: http://contactmusic.com

'The bidder who won tickets to DAVID and VICTORIA BECKHAM's glitzy World Cup party tonight (21MAY06) fears he will be barred from the bash because of "adverse publicity". DAVE WEST, who made his fortune from his beer warehouse in Calais, France, and a strip club in London's Mayfair, spent $185,500 (GBP103,100) on the invites which were auctioned on eBay in aid of UK charity the National Society For The Protection Of Cruelty To Children (NSPCC). The British businessman can't wait to rub shoulders with ROBBIE WILLIAMS and JAMES BROWN at the party, with a "27-year-old dancing lovely" from his own steamy nightspot Hey Jo at his side. But he insists the Beckhams are making it difficult for him to attend. He says, "I still think I'll be going but the auction has been a f**king farce from start to finish. "Earlier on the bidding I was stopped from being involved because someone was making false bids - not me though. "Then I was allowed back in and I rightfully won late on Friday night. "But soon after there seemed to be a problem with the money - but who can get over GBP100,000 out of their bank account just like that after the banks are shut? "They asked for my credit card details but something very mysterious is going on. I get the feeling they are trying to avoid adverse publicity but I've done nothing wrong." A spokesman for the Beckhams says he will be subject to "background checks".

During an appearance on Ross' BBC show last night (19MAY06), the host asked Williams if he would join his former band on their current reunion tour. Ross offered, "Take That are playing in Manchester next week (begs22MAY06). If you play tennis with me I will personally drive you to Manchester so you can join Take That." Under pressure, Williams agreed, "If you beat me at tennis, I'll go and sing COULD IT BE MAGIC with Take That." Williams quit the band in 1995. He refused to take part in the Take That's current revival, claiming he was too busy to take time from his solo schedule.

Robbie's vocal on love

Quoted from: http://www.thesun.co.uk

'ROBBIE WILLIAMS has struck up a close friendship with his backing singer JO GARLAND.
The word from Robbie’s camp is the former TAKE THAT star has taken a real shine to the pretty brunette from London, who will be part of the star’s UK tour.
TARA PALMER-TOMKINSON will be gutted to discover she was just a fling for Rob.
In the past Jo has worked on tours with GEORGE MICHAEL and RONAN KEATING.
Meanwhile, Robbie has taken his eye off the tour this week while training for his Soccer Aid charity match, to be broadcast on ITV1 on Monday.'

Kiss 'n tell Tara

Quoted from: http://www.mirror.co.uk

'By Fiona Cummins And Jenny Mcquaile

WHEN Robbie Williams learned this week that details of his 10-day sexual marathon with Tara Palmer-Tomkinson had been splashed all over the newspapers, he was livid.
"You'd think a posh girl would have more class. Especially someone that old," he furiously told a friend.
But if pop star Robbie was expecting more maturity from the 34-year-old sometime TV presenter and her friends, he was sadly mistaken.
He is just the latest in a long line of conquests who have had their supposedly intimate moments held up for public consumption. Close friends put Tara's reputation for bedding then blabbing to her friends down to attentionseeking and chronic insecurity. It seems the former It-girl wants everyone to know that she still has "it".
"Tara is a sweet girl but she's also an atrocious flirt who craves attention," reveals one of her oldest friends. "Because she has had a rough time of it with men, when anyone shows her the slightest interest, she's all over them like a rash.
"She is also conscious of the fact she's not getting any younger and that so many younger, prettier girls have flooded the party scene."
Tara's latest indiscretion has certainly disappointed Robbie, 32, who she described as an "Elvis" in the sack to a friend, after their love-in at his London penthouse. Her friends speak of how the rocker watched as Tara - wearing only a tea-towel around her waist - cooked him fried eggs on toast and later played a Mozart sonata (again semi-naked) on his baby grand piano
But perhaps Robbie should have had an inkling that things would end off-key...
In the past decade, Tara has gone from being a foxy socialite, who was a regular guest of Prince Charles at Kensington Palace, to a cocaine-wrecked junkie - only to be reborn as a celebrity misfit whose relationships have a habit of finding their way into newspapers.
Just a few weeks ago, for instance, it emerged that Tara had enjoyed an intimate moment with posh chart-topper James Blunt. It turned out that, unknown to Tara, Blunt was engaged to an equally posh girl, Camilla Bowler.
AS A tearful Camilla called it off, Tara said: "As far as I'm concerned, he isn't with anyone else. I'm not going to talk about what happened but I'm not going to deny it either."
Accused by Blunt's manager of "trying to ruin his reputation", Tara maintained that she never talked to anyone in the press about her liaison. She also claims that she kept quiet about her fling with Robbie.
In fact, last week she said: "I'm mortified that someone blabbed about my private life. I got burnt with James and I will not talk about Robbie."
But one source reveals to the Daily Mirror: "It's not like she's the sort of girl who can keep her mouth shut.
"She has an incredibly loud voice and she was on her mobile in a cafe talking to a friend about Robbie this week. She kept saying things like, 'Then he sang Angels to me' - just in case people didn't get the message...
"The reality is that if she really didn't want anyone to know, she'd deny it outright. But she's just enjoying every minute of this."
That may be the case but, professionally, Tara is finding life just a little harder than the old days.
Invites to glitzy premieres, fashion shows and celebrity parties are all drying up as Tara's profile has fallen from It-girl to magazine columnist with a DJ-ing slot on Freeview's Channel 18. And, sadly, things look little brighter where matters of the heart are concerned.
LIKE many other single women fast approaching their mid-30s, Tara is desperately looking for love.
With three failed engagements behind her and a penchant for picking the worst possible candidate for a partner, Tara's love life is a patchwork quilt of colourful disasters.
Her first big love, millionaire Anton Bilton, left her for her best friend, Lisa B (they are now married with children). Greg Martin (son of Beatles producer George) savaged her in the press.
Darren Day kissed and told within days, and her engagement to Matalan heir Jamie Hargreaves was broken off 18 months ago.
Despite all this, she says that she's much better off when she's in a relationship, adding: "I want what every woman wants - the marriage, the kids, the happy ever after. And I don't see why it isn't going to happen."
Tara's take on the public's perception of her is also revealing. "I hate the fact that people think I'm so desperate," she says. "If I want a man, I can go to any party and just get one. It's as easy as that."
But it is this flighty insecurity that leads her to boast about her conquests.
One source who heard her talking about her fling with Robbie says: "She said they did lots of really sweet things like watch DVDs and eat takeaways. But she really got into talking about the saucy stuff, like frying eggs naked. She has this dirty laugh and the girls around her were squealing with jealousy.
"It is a bit of a shame because if there was something there with Robbie, she has blown it big time by blabbing to her friends."
Tara herself now knows that she has made a mistake, with her calls to Robbie's mobile going unanswered.
So perhaps she shouldn't be surprised if, at her next party, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, the first It-girl, is shunned by male celebs wary of becoming her next target.
But don't worry, Tara. There's a new series of Celebrity Love Island soon - and stars addicted to love are definitely welcome.

UK Singer Robbie Williams Invited To Join UFO Cult

Quoted from: http://www.clickpress.com

'The Church of the SubGenius has invited UK pop singer Robbie Williams to join its ranks.

[ClickPress, Wed May 17 2006] In May of 1996, pop singer Robbie Williams announced his intention to start his own mystical religion dedicated to extraterrestrials.

In response to this statement, the Church of the SubGenius has made an offer for Williams to join their ranks. Church member Reverend Modemac stated, "If Mr. Williams wants to join a UFO cult, then have we got one for him!"

The Church of the SubGenius is a popular organization often seen as a "parody" of religious cults, including Scientology, the Raelians, and the Unification Church. It was founded in 1953 by a mysterious figure named J.R. "Bob" Dobbs, whose smiling, pipe-smoking image has been seen worldwide in chip art, graffiti, tattoos, and rock albums from performers ranging from Devo and George Clinton to Sublime. A number of celebrities are SubGenius ministers, including former Talking Heads singer David Byrne, Penn Jillette, Robert Anton Wilson, and Pee-Wee Herman.

The Church has issued a prediction that invading aliens from outer space will arrive on Earth on July 5th, 2006 (or "X-Day"), and that only the ordained members of the Church of the SubGenius will survive the oncoming cataclysm. Membership in the Church costs $30 USA, and Robbie Williams will be required to pay this membership fee in order to join.

However, the Church promises all members they will get their money's worth. The Church has a standing offer: "Eternal Salvation Or Triple Your Money Back."

In an interview with CNN, Church business manager Reverend Ivan Stang said, "We're probably the only cult that admits we're ripping them off every day, and teaching them to enjoy it."

Pop star Robbie Williams has revealed he would rather be a footballer than a singer.
The Stoke-on-Trent-born musician admits choosing the wrong career on a television chat show.

Port Vale fan Robbie captains the England team, which is managed by Venables.Williams said: "I love football, I`m so passionate about it, I`d rather be a footballer than a singer."

"I was shamed into starting the training," the singer said."
I`d been out on a late one, switched the TV on to see Gordon Ramsay finishing the marathon. He`s really competitive, a great fella, I want to be him."
Venables, on the other hand, talked about his ambitions to be a singer.

ROBBIE Williams will put his touring career on hold after a farewell gig in Melbourne.
Williams' world tour will end in Australia in December, with Melbourne the last stop.
He will play at Telstra Dome on December 17, with tickets on sale from June 6 at Ticketmaster.
"I'm not going to tour for a long time after this tour," Williams told the Herald Sun.
"For me this tour is a year-long celebration of what I've achieved as a solo artist. It comes in the form of getting on stage in stadiums.
"After that I'll say thank you very much. It's not something I want to do again for a long time."
Williams' 2006 world tour has sold out at stadiums throughout Europe and Britain.
The tour set a world record last year by selling more than 1.6 million tickets in a single day, beating a record held by 'N Sync.
The tour is expected to be seen by 2.5 million people this year.
Australian promoter Michael Chugg said Williams would bring the full overseas production down under.
The show features a stage that snakes into the crowd, bringing Williams close to fans.
Williams' Australian tour starts in Perth on December 1, before moving to outdoor shows in Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.
Tickets will cost about $149 for gold seats and $99 for silver.
Tickets will be sold in a maximum of six per transaction to prohibit internet scalpers buying in bulk.
The new tour mixes Williams' classics such as Angels, Let Me Entertain You, Rock DJ, Feel and Kids with recent hits Tripping and Sin Sin Sin.
"Some of the other shows I've done I've been running the 1500m, and the 400m and the 100m all at the same time. With this show I just want to relax," Williams said.
Williams is recording a new dance album, due for release in September. '

Robbie Williams' Music Helps Kids Learn Better

Ayinde O. Chase - All Headline News Staff Writer

London, England (AHN) - A study by Austria's LernQuadrat analyzed the brain behavior and learning capacity of children listening to different types of music. The study found songs by Robbie Williams and Anastacia were the best at 'stimulating the learning abilities of young people.'
LernQuadrat director Konrad Zimmermann says, 'Classical music, which has long been considered beneficial to learning, is obviously not fit for the world of young people today. They need to know and like the music in order for it to have a stimulating effect on learning.' '

Robbie Williams' alien cult plans

Quoted from: http://www.lse.co.uk

'Tuesday, 16th May 2006, 12:47

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Robbie Williams wants to start his own mystical religion... dedicated to extra-terrestrials.
The heartthrob singer hopes his bizarre alien faith will be as big as celebrity favourite, Scientology, which counts A-list stars like Tom Cruise and John Travolta among its followers.
He came up with the plan after reading about the late L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology - which teaches that aliens created the world.
He told BBC Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans: "If L. Ron Hubbard can start a cult, then so can I. "I'm not going to start it right now because I'm too busy. But I want to do it. I think the cult will have to wait until next year. But it will be free and universal.
"The religion would reportedly be aimed at people who share Robbie's long-running fixation with aliens.
Last year the singer claimed the world would soon be invaded by little green men.He said: "I've been dreaming every night about UFO's. I can't wait to go to sleep at night because those dreams have been so brilliant."
I think they are definitely on their way, seriously. Mark my words. From now until 2012 - watch out kids."
Robbie has also claimed he had premonitions San Francisco was going to be destroyed by an earthquake, but says extra-terrestrials prevented the disaster.

He's loving IT girls instead

Quoted from: http://www.thesun.co.uk/

'By SARA NATHAN
and THOMAS WHITAKER

LOVED-UP Tara Palmer-Tomkinson dubbed Robbie Williams 'Elvis' after their marathon romps - because he was a legend in bed.
The IT girl couldn't stop talking about him at a weekend wedding and 'wanted everyone to know they'd been spending lots of time together'.
She hooked up with Angels singer Robbie when he visited London last month and they holed up at his plush penthouse.
A pal said: 'For about ten days they just stayed in bed watching DVDs and eating takeaways - it all sounded very intimate.'
They only left Robbie's pad in London's posh Chelsea Harbour ONCE.
The pal added: 'Tara visited Robbie at his recording studio so he could play her his new song.'
Robbie and Tara have been pals for ten years. Friends say they also met up in New York in March - the night Tara claims to have bedded You're Beautiful singer James Blunt, 30.
Ex-Take That hunk Robbie has dated several beauties, including Anna Friel, 29, and Rachel Hunter, 36.
And he once wrote a song about Tara - Life Thru a Lens. He said later: 'It's not very complimentary.' Tara, who like Robbie has been in rehab for cocaine addiction, has described him as 'one of the sexiest creatures on the planet'.
She is said to be 'smitten', but does not expect a long-term relationship with the superstar singer.
The pal told Closer magazine: 'Robbie's such a huge star - and lives in LA - so it's hard for him to maintain a serious relationship.'
Last night I'm a Celebrity host Tara, 34, refused to deny the romance, insisting Robbie, 32, was 'cool' about the revelations.
Speaking outside her flat in Fulham, West London, she said: 'I'm mortified someone blabbed about my private life.
'I got burnt with James Blunt and I will not talk about Robbie. If you want to ask him what he thinks ask his management.'
Closer goes on sale today.'

Life in the extreme for Robbie

Quoted from: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/

READY FOR ACTION: Robbie Williams
READY FOR ACTION:
Robbie Williams

TEARS are not enough for Robbie Williams. "I've learned to deaden my emotions, because it's actually too much to take in," he reflects.
"I get a lot of letters that are heartbreaking, each week . . . most days, and I find myself in situations that counsellors should be in, and, perhaps, not pop stars. When I was younger it used to affect me so much that I couldn't have it affect me in the way it did anymore.
"Now I've learned to be quite cold about it, to tell you the truth."
A natural born entertainer, rebellious Robbie turned to drink and drugs during his time with Manchester boy band Take That, went solo and ended up in rehab, revealing how he suffered from depression, was an alcoholic and a commitment-phobic when it came to women.
Living life through a lens for so many years as one of the most famous faces in the world, with a £55m record contract and largely irresistible to the fairer sex, it's impossible to imagine what it must be like to be Mr Robert Williams.

But it's not all about him. For the last six years, Robbie has been an Ambassador for Unicef, the United Nations children's charity.
He's visited projects in Mozambique, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Russia. Among the issues he's helped to highlight is the horror of child trafficking.
"I know why I'm there. I know what I've got to do and I do it, and help to the best of my abilities. But I just can't take on board the grief and the pain and the enormity of it. It's too much."

Does his work with Unicef help him retain a sense of perspective amid the madness of global fame?
There's a pause before he answers: "I don't know. My life is a series of extremes. Every day is an extreme. My perspective is my perspective. People say, 'Don't you miss being normal?' Well, I don't know what normal is. I don't know. I'm 32. I have been doing it for a long time.
"But I'm still really young. I'm still trying to get my head round everything and perspective is something that I've never had much of," he laughs. "Every little helps, though."
Before the spring leg of his world tour began last month in Durban, South Africa, he spent time with a local family. "Their mother and father had been take away due to HIV Aids and were buried in the front garden of this mud house that we went to.
Unicef
"The eldest kid was 18, his brother was 16 and there were two little girls, four and six. I spent all day with them, seeing how they lived and what the money from Unicef was doing for them. And then they came and watched my gig and spent the day with me before I went on stage in the evening. It was quite a time."
Now he's getting ready to captain England v The Rest of the World, at Old Trafford, on Saturday May 27, the climax of ITV1's week-long Soccer Aid, hosted by Ant and Dec, to raise funds for Unicef and its partners. Both teams will feature World Cup legends and celebrities, with TV coverage kicking off a week tonight.
Robbie, a regular on the football pitch, came up with the idea last year. "It's another box ticked in my Jim'll Fix It-style life. I'm just some guy from Stoke-on-Trent that sings for a living and there's real footballers in these sides. It feels scary, actually.
"I've been to Old Trafford loads. Port Vale's my first side. They're in my blood. But I am a fan of Man Utd. When I was about eight or nine, we were playing out and some bigger boys said, 'Right, you've got to support Tottenham or Man Utd.' And I chose Man Utd - I didn't know who they were!
"The only thing I'm worried about is the fitness, and that does scare me, because I don't want to embarrass myself. It's a really big night - Boy's Own stuff. A dream come true."
The two squads, plus managers Terry Venables and Ruud Gullit, have been invited to take tea with Tony Blair at No 10. It will be Robbie's first visit to Downing Street. "I'll get nervous at the sense of occasion, in awe of the history. That's where Churchill lived."
Ramsay
He's played against opposing captain Gordon Ramsay before and knows what to expect. "The other week, I was still in bed and it was, like, four o'clock Sunday. And I've got an Easter egg in one hand, a Silk Cut in the other hand, a can of Coca Cola on the bedside, my ash tray full of cigs, and I turned the television on and it's the London Marathon.
"The first person that I see that had finished was Gordon Ramsay. This guy on the TV's going, 'So how was that for you Gordon?' And he was still jogging on the spot, saying, 'It was great this year. I think I could have done it a little bit faster.' I thought, 'Oh my God!' I'm just going to have to hit him."
Robbie's own marathon world tour resumes with the start of the European summer leg in Dublin on June 9, the first of 44 dates in 14 countries. Insurers worried the football fanatic may injure himself kicking a ball are given the red card.
"The way I see it is this, I'm going around the world playing football, and singing some songs are getting in the way of it."
THERE'S speculation that Robbie has already had a late night reunion in a hotel bar with Gary, Mark, Jason and Howard. He features as a hologram on Take That's current comeback tour. But will it one day be replaced by the real thing?
"I genuinely don't know," he replies. "I've got my tour and I've got the football, and it's a lot on my plate at the moment. I'd love to do something with Take That, but I don't want to be held to anything. If anything did happen, it would be last minute."

TICKETS for the Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford on Saturday May 27 in aid of Unicef's work with its partners are available from the Man Utd Box Office: 0870 442 1999 or by clicking here.'

Robbie Williams Gives Victoria Beckham A Headache

EXCLUSIVE: Star's set for Becks won't be on the telly
Kiki King, Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
SOMEONE must have a word with Robbie Williams's doctors - because his happy pills clearly aren't working.
The miserable millionaire has already disappointed legions of Take That fans by refusing to commit himself to a reunion.
And now we can reveal the pop saddo - who blamed anti-depressants for making his weight balloon - has banned ITV bosses from screening any part of his performance at the Beckhams' pre-World Cup charidee bash this weekend.
Guests including the England squad, Liz Hurley and Gordon Ramsay are happy to feature on the show, being screened on ITV1. But the singer is refusing to sign release forms to allow them to broadcast his set - including a duet with godfather of soul James Brown that's bound to be a highlight of the night.
An insider tells us: "Everyone involved has been so positive until now. There was disbelief when word came from Robbie's aides. No one can understand why he's being such a misery-guts about the whole thing.
"James Brown's an international superstar, far more famous than Robbie, and he's happy to be filmed, so what's Robbie's problem?" Last week LA-based Williams, 32, revealed he only agreed to turn up to Sunday's Full Length and Fabulous Ball after receiving a "begging" letter from Posh and Becks. And he insisted on performing Angels.
He said: "You don't get Robbie without Angels. I was supposed to be doing three songs, but they've got me playing for an hour now.
"I don't usually do things like this party, but I did get a letter from a young girl called Victoria.
"She said she had a husband called David who's very stressed at the moment because he had some important work coming up over the summer. I just thought: 'Why not? He could probably do with a bit of live Angels in his life.'"
It's yet another blow for David and Victoria as they work to organise the star-studded bash at their Hertfordshire mansion, Beckingham Palace.
First Prince Charles and Camilla couldn't come. Then Wayne Rooney and fiancee Coleen McLoughlin had other commitments. Not even superstar pal Sir Elton John will be able to make the bash in aid of the United Nations Children's Fund. He has a prearranged party in the South of France.
Guests who do get to the bash will have the time of their lives. As well as a charity auction featuring £1million worth of jewels from Aspreys the couple are lining up Dita Von Teese to do a stripteese.
Yesterday Robbie's spokesman said: "No comment".
We're more than happy to pop along.'

Robbie's Christian crusade

Qouted from: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk

'2006-05-13 09:50:02

Robbie Williams is being stalked by Christians.
The star - who plays a 'cult leader' in the video for his latest single 'Sin, Sin, Sin' - says they keep offering to save his soul.
He revealed: "The only religious people I get chasing after me are Christians.
"They keep coming up to and saying things like, 'Jesus wants to save you!'
"I'm like, 'Cheers, thanks for that. Nice one'."
Although Robbie is not interested in becoming a Christian he is keen to start his own cult.
He told Britain's Radio 2: "I'm not going to start it right now because I'm too busy. But I want to do it. I think the cult will have to wait until next year."

'By Simon Wright

ROBBIE Williams's one true love has finally given up on their on-off romance... to marry someone else.
Childhood sweetheart Rachael Gilson, 33, was flown out to the singer's Los Angeles mansion a year ago and he said: "You're the one - I'm ready to make a go of it".
But five days later she was back home after yet another split, which she, blamed on Robbie's huge fame.
Model Rachael last night revealed that, she had married company director Martin Livesey, 33, and that they had recently returned from honeymoon on the island of Mauritius.
Speaking at their home in Bury, Lancs, she said: "It's true, I got married. I'm really happy. Rob knows and he's happy for me, too."
It's thought Rachael confided in Robbie before her wedding last month. They fell in love when they were 16. In his autobiography Robbie named her as his one true love.'

Can't I make up with you?

Quoted from: http://www.thesun.co.uk/

'I CAN reveal the feud between ROBBIE WILLIAMS and GARY BARLOW is finally over - after a staggering 11 years.

Friends again ... Robbie and Gary
Friends again ... Robbie and Gary
Picture: LFI

The original TAKE THAT line-up had an old boys' reunion at a secret party on Tuesday.
And it is good news for the reformed band's fans who want to see Robbie appearing on stage with his old mates during their tour.
Robbie invited MARK OWEN, HOWARD DONALD, JASON ORANGE and Gary to meet him at the swanky Conrad hotel in Chelsea Harbour, West London, next to his luxury pad.
He had Been Expecting the boys at the hotel bar shortly after their sell-out gig at Wembley Arena. But they got held up after fans hounded them for autographs after the concert and didn't turn up until 12.45 am.
As the quartet stepped off the blacked-out tour bus the whole of Take That - who had a 1993 hit with Why Can't I Wake Up With You - had their first emotional reunion since splitting in 1995.
Robbie held out a huge olive branch to his old foe by giving him a massive hug.
Gary told me at the Newcastle gig that the Rock DJ would appear on stage for more than one date during the band's tour. This reunion was the first chance all the lads could get to talk over the plans for Robbie's comeback.
A source told me: 'Robbie looked a bit nervous waiting for the boys.
'He was sat on his own at the bar in a black hoody.
'The bus pulled up outside the doors and the boys ran into the hotel one by one through the foyer and into the bar.
'When Gary went through Robbie stood up and they both hugged and laughed. Gary said, 'How are you? It's been a while ...'
'Over the past 11 years they have hardly spoken to each other and since the band got back together last November their only means of communication was through Mark.
'They looked quite emotional. They haven't all been in a room all together for almost 11 years - it was like old times.' After their brief hellos the boys disappeared into a private room in the hotel to chat about the gig.
And I reckon they had a lot to discuss with Robbie's 'surprise' appearance coming up.
JORDAN and PETER ANDRE had been sat in the bar watching the reunion unfold.
And Gary's wife Dawn - who is a dancer on the tour - invited them to join the exclusive bash.
A source said: 'All the old crew mates joined them for the mini celebration.
'It was like they were easing Robbie back into to the gang for when he goes on stage with them.'
So Robbie, any Regrets?'

Robbie set to play... South Kirkby

Quoted from: http://www.leedstoday.net/

'Exclusive
By Jo Rostron

INTERNATIONAL superstar Robbie Williams could be gearing up for his world tour next month - in a former pit village in West Yorkshire.
The staging, set and props for the singer's tour next month is currently being put together at a studio in South Kirkby and rumours are rife that the man himself is set to rehearse there sometime soon.
Security is in place at the £2m Northern Studios at Langthwaite Grange Industrial Estate which offers rehearsal facilities for bands before they go on tour.
Alan Bennett, from Show and Events Security, which is hired by Robbie's production team said: "The backing singers are due to come here possibly next week or the week after. Half the stage is being built here, the equipment is getting sent up and they are doing sound checks. Then it will be stripped down next week and shipped to Belgium.
"The other part of the stage is being made in Belgium where the whole set will be put together for final rehearsals before the tour kicks off in Dublin on June 9.Mr Bennett, who is head of security, denied that Robbie Willliams would be coming to the South Kirkby site but said: "All of it is being kept hush, hush."He added: "We don't want crowds outside."The studios, which are tucked away on the sprawling industrial estate, are a discreet spot for a wealth of international bands who can rehearse at the major warehouse style venue without attracting attention. One local shopkeeper, who did not want to be named, said: "The production crews are down here all the time. They come from all over the country and from what we've heard Robbie Williams will be down here next week. Scissor Sisters, Phil Collins and Coldplay have all been down here before - we've never seen them themselves but their crews stay around here in the tour buses so they pop in all the time."A spokesman for Robbie Williams refused to confirm whether he would be rehearsing at the site.

Woman faces anguish over Robbie rumours

Quoted from: http://www.ripleytoday.co.uk

'A SWANWICK woman has faced six months of anguish over claims that she is Robbie Williams' half sister.
Sue Noble of New Street has been subject to tabloid journalists from national newspapers, knocking on her door and asking if she's the mega star's half sister.

"There is no way I'm his half sister, unless someone is not telling me something."
Quote By : Sue Noble

Sue , who is adamant that she is not related to the Stoke-on-Trent born singer, said: "The first I heard of it was when a journalist knocked on my mum's door six months ago, since then a number of others have turned up on my doorstep and called."One turned up and said he had a tip-off that I was Robbie's half sister. He was quite obnoxious and made a comment about my house not being like the Robbie Williams lifestyle. He also had a copy of my birth certificate and asked why it didn't say Williams on it."Another said he had genuine information and reason to believe that my mum had an affair with Robbie's dad in the 60s. My parents have been married since 1958, my mum never knew Robbie's dad and she involved the police when journalists started knocking on her door."
Sue is so sick of the unwanted attention that she has even consulted a solicitor. A letter was sent to two national newspapers in March, instructing them to stop harassing her. She even offered to provide a DNA sample, but hasn't heard anything back yet.
On her solicitor's advice she has turned to the Ripley and Heanor News to put the record straight and tell everyone she is nothing to do with Robbie."I need your help," she said, when she telephoned last week.
She doesn't know why people have been led to believe that she is related to the star but thinks that there has been a mix-up somewhere along the line. She said: "There is no way I'm his half sister, unless someone is not telling me something."Robbie Williams' press office had no comment to make. on the allegations when contacted by the News.
